*not a spoiler*

A speculation about the future: Skywise and Suntop return to Abode after centuries in the Palace, during which they have become nearly High Ones. They find that you can't go home again.

This was done before I worked on Full Circle and I didn't know anything about how Suntop would look in the future except for that little panel in Siege.  But he does look fairly similar to how Wendy drew him later, no?

Seems like immortality has a certain price as well. Although it looks like Skywise had already made peace with that knowledge, he seems to be less sad than Sunstream.
Gorgeous picture, I love your soft way of pencil shading!

Oh I've loved this ever since I first saw it...somewhere. Hmm.  It seems so sad and so cold, somehow.  You did get Suntop spot on, which is amusing, but... (is it blasphemy to say this?") ...I think I like your version better!

Also, by "vellum" do you mean bristol vellum? sketch vellum? translucent vellum awesomeness?  Just curious.

Beautifully rendered. Makes the viewer wonder exactly what each is thinking, since Skywise seems more at peace than Suntop (Sunstream).

So sad still... Well, they have the palace, but "lost" the world and the home they both were born in... So very beautifully drawn!

Joyrider, I often use a heavy, translucent, parchment-type vellum for pencil drawings.  I don't know the exact name because... gah!.. I can't find my pad at the moment because I am switching my art stuff upstairs to a different room.

I like to do scribbly sketches working out poses and composition, and it is nice to lay a piece of vellum over all that cr*p for the final drawing.  The vellum I use isn't transparent, so I am not *tracing* my originals but I get an idea of where everything is.

Plus the vellum is so durable.  When you have to erase the heck out of something again and again, the tooth still holds up.  Paper would be shreds.

Fantastic picture. I like how you've aged Skywise with the different head piece and longer hair.
