Chief Desertrage and Boldkill

by Amberfox

Chieftain of the Shadowstriders, Serengeti Mists, of World Paths with his bond Boldkill.  They live wandering the plains, similar to the Serengeti of Africa, and are bonded to African hunting dogs.  They are young, the Holt is small, and the two have taken a moment in pensive thought.

I'm so glad you joined here! I've seen so many of your gorgeous pictures already in the fanzines of Shadow Vale. I love your inking style and all the mad crosshatching!!
You drew me a picture once too, of my alter-self. I think she was named Fasteye, I only drew her once myself... I've had a print of it on my wall for a looooong time. :]

This one is another great piece! I believe they're also called spotted dogs and they're awesome, I've seen some cubs this year! Nice bond, they look great together.

Thank you, Mischievous_Valkyrie!  I really enjoyed drawing Boldkill, and I will post another illo at some point featuring another Shadowstrider actually riding her bond.  I also did a drawing of an African hunting dog for a zoo in Florida to place in their enclosure that had two brother African hunting dogs.  I was so excited to do it!

And may I say I love your work as well?  I've seen your work in Oceans Edge and Tailwater; will you be posting the one you did for Janett?  I was absolutely impressed with it!

Drat!  He's supposed to be over in My Holts album!  Ah well.

Testing here - Afke, I've been trying to reply to your message all day.  I don't know what's going on, but, I'll keep trying.

Ayoooah Afke! I was thinking about sending you email and asking if I had sent you the illo I did a while back of Fasteye. Did I send you the ones I did of Goldmoon (I think her name is) and Pinvis? I did those around the same time, but it was a very hectic time for me and I can't recall now if I sent them or not. Let me know if I didn't and I'll try and get them to you ASAP. I am very glad you like the one of Fasteye; I rarely ever know if the creator is happy with what I've done or not.

I just posted an illo to this site that I had in mind just for you. It prominently features a troll maiden - I remember reading you didn't think the trolls had enough time in the limelight.

Afke:

I think maybe my post was too long, so -

Yes, African hunting dogs have a huge list of names they're called by: African hunting dogs, Cape hunting dogs, African wild dogs, painted wolves, spotted dogs (although in America, those are usually Dalmations), Mwali (I think; local term).

I also still have and love the illos you did of my gang back in Shadow Vale.  You did a wonderful job with them!  Thank you!

Well, I did get Fasteye, but not the others. Man, that was already a while back, of course I'd still love to see it! My RPG inbox is located at afke.rpg @ gmail.com so even if it's a huge file, it should arrive okay. Thank you so much, I didn't know you drew more for me! ;D
