Backlit Portrait
by Windrider
Another old GAZERS submission. Lighting inspired by a Bob Dylan album cover.
I also tried to capture more than one aspect of Skywise's character in one portrait without copying Elfmom.

I really like seeing him without his headthingy.
![]() But something is bugging me about his left eye... feels it should be closer to his nose? Or it's too slanted? I'm not sure. Do love the lighting, or more like the shading of this piece! |

Beautiful beautiful piece. I like how the circle of his hair creates a third "moon" that encloses the larger moon, just as the larger moon encloses the smaller. And of course the lighting is just banging.
It's interesting that you mention including several sides to his personality, because before I read the description, I remember thinking that I wasn't sure if you were wanting to draw him in his come-hither mode, or if this was more a picture about his love of the stars and adventure. So I think you succeeded on that account. |
