River Twine - whole tribe

Yay! After a year working on this, I'm finally done! This is the composite of the River Twine Holt tribe's portraits I've been working on (at least, the tribe as it exists right now). In truth, I didn't expect it to drag on for a year; it probably should have only taken 5 or 6 months. (I completed 18 figures since about the beginning of April.) It's annoying that I can look at it and see the stylistic difference between the earliest-done figures and the latest-done ones.

Pentel Brush-Pen inks, Copic markers, after-effects in Photoshop.

Wow, Sgaana! This glorious, wonderful, a feast for the eyes! Congratulations! I would actually hang this on my wall. I almost wish they wouldn't be standing to closely together, so that we could see the elaborate costume designs better. Each character is so full of personality, I absolutely love it!
Thumbs up for not dropping this project but finishing it!
You rock!

Wow.
:o

What a gorgeous picture this is. So much to see and so many colors!
Though I agree with Treefox; you could arrange the elves in such a way that more of each figure can be seen and it doesn't look so crowded, especially since you've got loose pictures of them anyway. You could play with the composition all you want!

Yeah, the reason they're so squished together is because I was trying to figure out how to fit them in the smallest space possible, so as to result in the smallest final image I could get.  I'm mindful of the fact that not everyone has as gigantic a computer screen as I do.  Also -- the closer together they are, the more detail you can actually see (in faces, especially) because the individual figures can be bigger.  That is, a more spread-out composition at approximately this same size (which is 11"x11") would not only require a wider image, but within the image, the individual figures would be that much smaller than they are in this version.

Wow, this is beautiful. Though I'm really glad there's bigger pictures of each individual. Just looking at this makes me want to look at all the pictures again!

*shuffles off to find the pretty upper-most redhead and the silverhaired wolf-like lady* :D

Brilliant work

Edit:
*Shuffles back* I found Evervale, but I couldn't find the other lady. She's in the lower left corner. You haven't uploaded all of them yet? (Otherwise, I'm just really bad at finding things xD )

Oh, no; I didn't post any of the older individual pieces here, when I redid my gallery (all of them are on the RTH site, and many are in my dA gallery; but time passes, and I didn't like them enough to post them here when the gallery went up).  If you mean the kneeling silver-haired elf, that's Quick Fang, and the full-sized one is here:

Yea, that's her. She looks a bit like a throw-back? More wolf in her than most other elves.. But that might just be me imagining things. She's gorgeous anyway, in a feral way

Yes, she's our throwback character. :)  Also the mom of the little blond boy.

Hah, good job on her! I've never even seen the character before, and I could tell xD Aww, cute.. I really should try reading some of the stories from this holt. There's so many intriguing characters!

Amazing achievement.

So whose that one wolf in the front, that he gets to be the only wolf in there? ;)

Thanks!  ;D

That's Chicory's wolf, Sleuth. (The elf leaning against her.)  Originally, there were going to be standing wolves bracketing either side, as well, but I ditched that idea as I started adjusting the layout to try to come up with an end product that would be as small as I could get it in both dimensions.  (I felt that the idea with the wolves on either end added too much horizontally.  And that was even before I decided to try the current super-compressed layout; my first working copy was even more spread out.)

So I decided Sleuth would be the one representative wolf.  ;)

WOW!  Character portraits like this are a HUGE amount of work, I know from experience.  You have my respect for finishing it!  I'm also glad that you posted the portraits individually, so that I can go look at all the costume details and learn a little of the history and relationships of each character.  I guess I'd have to go look in the writing section to learn more?
