I volunteer as the first person up. Should we just do lineart first and then decide on a colourscheme later?

Sure, we can do that. Makes a lot of sense that way if anything needs to be adjusted then there's no starting from scratch.

Alright, first entry up, here's Warfrost!

Whoever wants their character to play with the wolf can grab it (or if you want your character to be doing their own thing on the other side of the picture I guess) just make sure to comment on the thread so we know what's happening and multiple people don't work on the same interaction.
When you're done/mostly done with the lineart post it in the thread so that the next person can continue!

(let me know if you want a better quality picture and I'll mail it to you)

I wanted to ask everyone who's submitting/has submitted a page about the cover. I was trying to think of some way to show the tribes without actually drawing characters, as I think that would be overkill considering each submission has at least 4 characters already.

I was thinking of symbols to represent each tribe might be cool but I'm kind of stuck on a few, like Trolls for example. I thought it would look interesting if the symbol was present in something the tribe is known for, like for the Wolfriders it could be a wolf or tree sewn onto a piece of leather and for the Sunfolk it could be a tapestry with the sun on it...etc.

I also wanted to ask if those if you who have a page in the calendar would want to represent your tribe with a symbol on the cover rather than me doing it? It was kind of cool getting to do the cover for a bunch of years but considering the subject of this years calendar I feel like it should be a team effort.

Let me know what you all think.  ;)

I think the trolls could be an anvil or a sledge hammer, and the go-Backs a profile of a stag.  I'm excited to work on Vaya for December and look forward to where you want her in the scene. :)

@shayde1 - As Wildfire mentioned, in her post with her Warfrost picture, someone needs to go next. So if you're ready to get to work, why not have Vaya interacting with the wolf?  ;D

We've established (if you took a peek at the previous posts) that we are having the deceased characters working together on a project, which will be a kind of dream a preserver is having, showing the perfect tribe.

So please feel free to have Vaya interacting with the wolf if you're ready.

Hm, I gotta to admit I am kind of clueless about a good Symbol for my human tribe. So Maggie, if you have any ideas for that, please go ahead.

Okay, so I think I finished the background for December. Let me know what you think. I sent the full-sized version to Maggie.

I like the outline (in the middle)that seems to float and is looking at a smaller character.  I will use that placement for a Wavedancer if I may ?

This will not take long as I have nothing on the board right now.  Sending soonest, Maggie.

(OOps   !Did not see second page of thread !   Will have her leaning  over the upper branch.)

Outline done.  Farbright leaning down over upper branch; handing her coral headpiece down to  (?).

Must stop for today.  WIND STORMS are flashing everything !  And a 118lb plott hound is trying to get into my lap *sigh*  Should be done with line art clean up by tomorrow night. (Within 26 hrs)

Sent to you personally, Maggie.  Please insert.   Wind storms took out phone, lights, and motor car (I have an electric door on garage.)  I feel like I am on Giligans Isle!

Firemen predicting a 72 hour wait for power and such.  Sorry !

@TREEFOX  The background looks so nice, and I love the preserver !  Thank you for doing this for all us  tribemates.

Alright, so Tah-Marien just sent me her character, it still needs a little work but she felt like it would be a good idea to post it so someone could have their character interacting with hers if they wanted.

Wooow, she's gorgeous! Then let me be next. Kaslen could take her headdress to incorporate into the father tree.
And I absolutely forgot to add some water for the Wavedancers!
Maggie, should I add some waterfall and pond for them?

Uh, I can do that if needed but I believe that Tah-Marien intends for her character to be above the branch on the cave part of the background, so no water needed really. I mean, they're also deceased, so they can pretty much do anything we want in the scene. :P

Thank you all! Ok, let's leave the background as it is. You're right, of course. This is a vision of the ideal tribe and the deceased are free to do what they want anyway. ;)
I'll start working on Kaslen as soon as possible.
Hopefully the linework and basic colors won't take too long.

Did someone already claim the space with Warfrost? I think it would be a perfect thing for Greymung to argue over.

No Afke, you can have your character playing off of Warfrost.

I hope everyone enjoys my first attempt ever for making a contribute to the calendar :D:D

Treefox: what a great background. I love the details like the preserver sitting on a shard. It looks great :D

Tribemates, I want to strongly ask to leave this cute and graceful preserver on the background - I sincerely like the vision of Treefox. In addition I barely have free time to finish April submission. ...so, if Maggie doesn't mind, maybe it would be the wise step for efficient use of time and resources :)    ...I insist)))

That's fine Marsel, I can leave Treefox's Preserver in place.  :)
