They're updating the site. Or, that was what we last heard.

Here is what I "know"...

There were some issues, site slowdowns, booted logons, etc durning last week.

Sunday, a notification was posted on the "social" section that the server was down to replace a suspected faulty hard drive. The site was supposed to be up tuesday afternoon.

Just checked, and the entire site is completely down.

I will say, from the limoted knowledge of what Ive observed about the way that site is structured, as well as my telecom background (not to mention the garbled '347' on my mailbox, when I only had 1. It remained after the social side was shut down), I would suspect it is likely that they changed the drive, reloaded the backuo, and have since found thst it was a main site hard drive, or there is an issue after the backup was loaded, hardware/software conflict.

I dont really know, I just feel that things did not go as planned.

Judging from the little information Facebook gives, the "ServerWizards" are still working, Richard is not pleased - saying it in a polite way - and everyone has to wait.

Makes me think of the "minor issues" when disfunctional hardware was changed in my computer ... *sits down and waits patiently* ... this can take time  ::)

I went for a leetah reference and I found it down again, I was very sad. I hope they can figure out whats going on and be able to fix it, I know they have a lot on their plates... But it'd be great to have the site for news and stuff.

Nothing wrong with the site.

Richard was running a total backup, and he hoped it would go much faster faster if the site is offline. Previous backups took most of a day because they had to work around the functioning site. Well - it doesn't seem to be as successful as he hoped for.

Richard: OK, lesson learned. Do not EVER attempt a backup of the Elfquest site THAT way again. It's back in business now.

Sorry, don't know how to link properly.
