Okay  .   .   .  *big blushes here*   I am not too good with modern slang -  I thought a "banana hammock" was just another term for "junk"  you know;  a cylinder and two spheres.

Well  .   .  .  now I know.   *sly smile*  But my first quarterly contribution will be modestly nude.  Silly me.

No ideas yet.  I will wait for the rules.  (I do better with all the information)  I admit to being excited though.

Weird to think that we have over three hundred and twenty members on this site - and only twelve voted ? Think about this:  Just one person calling six friends could have Ruled this poll.  Silliness !

Hugs to Maggie and Treefox for all the hard work you guys do for this wonderful playground of a Site !   ThanX !

HI !

Emotions huh ?   Well that is certainly a Big part of Elfquest !

I AM so in - no matter what comes and may.

@SILENTLEAF  -   Sharpen those . . .  um, Markers ?  I will take you up on the collab offer because it takes me so much extra work and planning to color.  Not than I am unwilling to do the extra work; just do not think I have the time left to color.  It is so sweet of you to offer !   Until I found cyber online fandom in  EQFA and River Twine I had never had someone help me with an Art piece.  I find it very interesting to see how my work evolves through another artist' eyes.  So thank you in advance for the offer and the help. *humble bow*

Alright cyber- tribe mates;  we have a challenge to accomplish here.  With help or without, a new calendar will be born.  Now where are those rules ?

@JaRf -  Emotional example- Leetah being restrained by Skywise. (KoTBW, when she learns they have bn taken by Rayek into the future--a future they think the Wolfriders are not a part of.)  Birds-eye view.  Two people-utter emotion.  Interaction.  Brilliance.  You could do it.  You are better than you have given yourself credit for.

Yay  team !    GO !

Totally found a pose to work with, so I am getting started.  My theme is:  Full Crow Moon  (when)  .   .    .     . "The cawing of the crow signals the end of Winter."   So I do not know if that is spring or winter, but the drawing will be be black and white - I might play with color - but maybe not.

It was/is hard to find a sensual pose, that is not feminine, for a guy.  I wanted strength and beauty without .   .   .  well, it is hard to explain.  But anybody that has drawn Elfquest knows how hard it is to balance male beauty and macho - ism.

. .

I do not know if I can finish something by March 29th -   but I am going ahead anyway !

Get out your umbrella's  fan tribemates.  It looks like it will be a fun year.  Hmm  .  .  .   it is a Crow Moon  this month for spring.  I think I can work with that.

My vote goes toward Contrasts  (young/old)  and Portraits.   Although just Elfquest babies sounds fun and funny.

@ STARTEAR  -  That is a very wide range of  "Maybe so, Maybe no".    Especially since there are not enough comics to cover all of the possibilities brought up in the BoTC novels yet.
I admit to loving only Most of those stories.   EX:   I can see how the recognition of Bearclaw and also how he found his new wolf-friend needed to be different for the ElfQuest universe and I loved what Wendy did with that scenario.

@ Maggie  -  Are we starting an Art Challenge ?  Maybe I do not understand what is being proposed here.

@  Afke  -   I like broader themes also.  I have just been very curious as to  "how"  and  "what"  is canon in the ElfQuest fandom circle.  And in this case; what the boundaries could be for a seasonal backdrop.  The idea of SILENTLEAF's caught my attention because - well - it's men !   (Let us hear it for raining men !)

Hey  SILENTLEAF !

I Am a silly goose.   But not dense enough to refuse an offer like THAT.  Especially sense your Brill was one of my top ten favorites of the weekly planner entries.

So, if you are serious -  Heck ya !  That is so the "bees knees".

. .

60
That is a great idea SILENTLEAF !  I so need to work on my males in any sense; and have needed some inspiration.  Are there themes that came to mind ?  Cards, holidays, iconic representations ?  Or were you just thinking of any male elves  doing something "seasonal" together ?

 And   .   .   .  (my own self interest is showing here) ;

I would love to also see parents and children together of the chiefs. For example: I have never seen a picture of Rahnee and Prey-Pacer together.  In the timeline - just how many elf parents were around to see their cubs grow to full maturity?

Are the BoTC  novels considered canon in fandom today ?

Sign me up !   I would love to do a fan piece again.

I would need at least 4 months leeway for a completed drawing, but I might need a willing colorist.  Even though I plan to start art multimedia classes this month - I just know I suck at coloring in the long view.  And it takes me weeks and weeks to do anything in color; since I usually have to do three or four at a time to insure a completed piece.

I am IN !

Hell-O   to   all   my   Fellow   Fans !

Thanx  MAGGIE  for sharing some very deep and meaningful thoughts.   I, also, have felt  and noticed the drop off of interest and submissions in the short time I have been with EQFA.  Made me sad.  Mostly because I am really so very new to the Site;  in the sense that I had never heard of it until  MIRROR  invited me to check out the fan calender project all the way from  Deviant Art.    She said I "should" admit a piece for consideration - I submitted two - and picked the wrong one to publish I think (now).  But It was the "should" that caught my attention.  And she was very right!

I am sooooo very glad I joined the other artist' and writers and fans of all types here at this wonder of a "reach out".  It was  hard in the 80's and 90's pulling in International fans since the cost to print and ship fanzines was just plain silly.  Oddly enough one of SweetWater Fan Club's first (ever) over seas members was Windwalker, known to me now as KAYEL.  It cost  over 25 dollars to mail, (which was a lot back then.  Now a twenty is just a yuppie food stamp.) and print and copy.

Which is why  I was excited to see so many people from around the world here !  It still makes me happy to visit  and see what fans are doing.  So I understand the sadness, and share it.

What can we do to up participation ?  When even  some Clubs and Forums  come  and  go so quickly ?

I do not Know.

However; I really want to thank you and  TREEFOX for all the work and time and comments and administration you have been doing.  It cannot be said enough.  Having run a fan club (small scale in comparison) for over 20 years;  I know how much work it is to motivate and corral the masses.  Even in my current  online Club I feel outside the circle of participation.  I miss the one-on-one  excitement and interaction of an in town fan club.

(In SweetWater) We did have a "Trading Post"  for phone numbers, and then addresses, and then later, emails.  Everyone was required to write or call or story or collaborate once a quarter with one person that they did not know well.  Kept us all connected Then.  Do not know how it would translate over to the virtual world now though.  But it was fun !

Well  .   .   I will stop "bending your ear", as it were.  But I will always want EQFA to be there !  Please ?  Pretty please ?

Hey there PEACEKEEPER !   Welcome. Welcome to EQFA !

How nice of you to have an interest in my Club.  SweetWater was my blood and tears for a very long playing time.  But I was not the only one who loved the Fan World we had set up.  As official D.O.R.K. (see Leader - which by any other name *shrug* still means "little red hen")  I have to say there has indeed been talk between me and Cat-twin of trying to get the club online and in a playable order.

Sadly, neither of us know anything about computer, online, fan gaming.  We can sit around and talk til the cows come home about all the things we would do with an Online active SweetWater - but if we do not have the skills - well - It just is not going to happen in the near future.

And truth to tell: me and my Editor (see Quickwind) believe that if we ever put out anything it will probably be a Guide of how to do an in-town fan club.  Because THAT is what we were so very, very  good at !

I  will still leave ALL possibilities open for the future.  And we have enough animal bonder's who would understand about the Bear - you would just have to make it past the HUNT that lives around our borders.  Pure wolves are so much harder to deal with than elf-blooded ones !  For sure and Mary!

Again - Thank You for the interest.  Keep those pointy ears cocked to the future -  for we can never predict that ! !

@  KOJI   She looks so very sweet.  And wow,  those jack rabbit feet, is she part Manx ?    Aaawww  the 'spaz' period.  Sometimes they outgrow it   *silly smile with wide eyes*   Sometimes not.

Cute, cute.  Even as cats they are so very sweet to me.  I am one of those rare humans that love both cats and dogs equally.  My Plott hound is a hundred pound marshmallow that (I hope) loves kittens.

Pretty black Kitty !  She looks so very soft  KOJI.  How old is she ?

I had been without a kitten since December of last year.
The house just did not feel like a home when we lost the last cat standing this month.

Tribes of Elfquest I drew for and / or helped develop :

Wolf's Find Holt
Very Traditional wolfriders of the tenth generation.  Very much Cannon.

SweetWater Holt
WolfRiders - Traditional.  Wolves and all.   But higher magics in the evolution.   Two wolf Packs left this tribe forever separated.  Finally a volcano was rock shaped with inner working caves for the more pure blooded wolves and their bonds  to live outside - and the rest of the tribe and pack, with the more elven blooded Wolves, dwell ed inside.  Even the e-wolves had magic's, of a lesser, sort.

Cay Islands
Highones  and many centuries of their descendants.  With preservers and ocean wildlife Bonds of friendship. Secret islands and strange things in wrap stuff on a Preserver Island that the elves didn't even know what they had inside.

RavenWater
Highones, descendants and bird bonds.  This tribe was Elfquest meets the Hawkbrothers of M. Lackey.  Magic ties to the land and all.

Canopy Elves
Highones, and their descendants with pieces of the palace in their lofty village.  They rode a sort of Star Wars Ton-ton and had very high Floater Magics and were skilled warriors.

The Pride
Highones and mixed blood with great prairie cats.  Very similar to the wolfriders but with the bond and evolution involving a Feline tint.

DeepHaven
Highones who shape changed themselves and their surroundings to accommodate very deep water pressure. Involving a new form of elf that was needed as a third party for an birthing triangle.  This strange new elf was a carrier, like a kangaroo, complete with pouch for child incubation.

Squirrel Chatter
A  category for all other what- if's we wanted  *   all in good fun * and not a part of timeline or storyline.

         Hell-o   AMBERFOX  !  !

Sorry to have been gone so long!  (Sent you my email so we can stay in touch)   I joined an online fan club and it took a few of my online hours away.  Most gladly.  And I am learning a whole lot.  The hard part is; being mostly deaf on one side- I did not realize how much I relied on voice and body language and touch to see into and about a person. (I am learning how to story-line communicate online -  "slowly")  *sigh*

   Anyhoo   .   . ..

SSooo  .  .  I started with an in town (in person)  fan club group that expanded to International-before Online existed - -  ? What I miss about "Old Fashioned Fandom"  isn't just the Newsletter Meetings  (and more) ? - -   I miss people.  &  Puppy piles and late night campfires.  &  drawing  circles.  & writing pow-wows and camp outs that last a week.    I miss walking to the park at 2 am & drinking Mountain Dew until 4.  Hugs and people to call a midnight for a kind word of hope -  That is what most of those 42 eflguest fan people where to me from SweetWater Holt.  We learned that when the misfits band together we can rule the world.

What I like about the new online interaction is making a new kind of  friend and seeing More ELFQUEST (R)  art.  So much art !    Wow. -  -   I could never have imagined it 35 years ago.  And so many Styles of art, from Traditional to Digital and everywhere in  between -  -  I am truly overwhelmed by it all.

I look forward to all that I can learn from  new friends far away and new Art to study.  Ha rah !

Wow !  !  .  .  . there are some interesting Characters here for adoption.  Both Goldspice and Starskimmer seem  fully  developed  and  fun.

Computer skills seem to be very important and usually have stopped me from Tech-Holt  ing.  I lack the skill  and  patience to deal well with technology.  Just think of me as the  'Gibbs'  of  EQ Elf Fandom.  (NCEQ?)  I want to play, but would have to have everything explained twice or thrice.

Thank you for the many links to your Page @ River Twine. I plan on reading everything ! !

Question ?   ?     More of an suggestion really.   FOXEYE  did an amazing Monochromatic picture of MoonShade.    I would suggest that we add the catagory on/in   "Challenges"?    What a wonderful challenge idea and a great example to live up too  !  !     Anyone ?

I have something on the back burner that just might fit the bill.  he-he

Can these entries be collaborations?    IE  -   I am not great at coloring but may be able to talk a friend into helping me.  My own style would take way too long in the Panel Format to finish in time.
