She looks so feral!
In Twisted Tales - Posted Feb 26, 2011
Heeheehee! This looks like it could be an illustration for a wolfrider's fairytale book! :)
In A Different Reality colour - Posted Feb 26, 2011
Ooh, beautiful in color, as well! I love Rayek's hair, and their skins look so soft...
In A Different Reality - Posted Feb 26, 2011
Proof positive that Skywise is sexy regardless of gender! :D And you drew it -- so congrats on doing that so well! I love the pose here, though I admit I'm just a little afraid of Rayek/any wolfrider. O.O Considering his reaction to them! LOL.

Yikes! *jumps back* ..AAAAAaNNd now Winnowill's starting to scare me! Gee, that feels familiar! =P I'm definitely seeing her later-self more sinister traits surfacing by now. She's still obviously trying to do this for Aroree's Own Good (tm), but she's becoming manipulative...
That's a really hard position to draw for a hand. I can see what you mean, but I think you did well with it anyway!
In Page 18 - Posted Feb 26, 2011
Oh! LOL, I see it now! *grin*
In Preservers of River Twine Holt - Posted Feb 25, 2011
Awww, they're soooooo cute! You may not be 100% happy with it, but it makes great fanservice for me! (preserver fangirl)
In Page 25 - Posted Feb 24, 2011
Wow! I love the effect of Timmorn's image tangled up (just like she said!) in Aroree's hair and everything. :)
In babysitting - Posted Feb 22, 2011
Awww! That's adorable, and they look just like in the comics! You got Skywise's expression *perfect*.
In Cinderglow - Posted Feb 21, 2011
I love the effect on the eyes and mouth too! :D

Yep! I bet if you look in the mirror, *your* eyes are one eye-width apart. ;) I don't know for certain about the EQ style for elves, but the one-eye-width rule *looks* good to me on EQ elves. I even just check our two pet cats -- *their* eyes are one (cat)eye-width apart as well! Neat, I didn't know that!
In Essence of life - Posted Feb 20, 2011
This is a really great picture! I think the body of the cat is kind of short for that position. It feels like the body should be stretched out a bit more in that leap... I agree with basically what's been said already regarding the zwoot. Oh, I love the fierceness in both creatures, and the background fits so well with the subjects of the piece!
In First Green - Posted Feb 20, 2011
*blink blink* What? *blink* You said... early learning stage? But the colors are magnificent! Such detail on the greenery, and I know that couldn't possibly be fully due to pencil sketch for those shapes. I loooove the texture of the bark on the trees, as well! :) In the way of critisism, the deer's muzzle looks just a *bit* tall vertically speaking, making it look a little bear-like, but it's possible I've just got the idea of face-shape for this variety of deer/elk/whatever wrong... You can just hear that poor animal's heartbeat! Well done. This is such a beautiful piece!
In Shadow wood Wolfriders - Posted Feb 20, 2011
Awesome! I love the shine on Amberstrike's hair!
In Cinderglow - Posted Feb 20, 2011
Well, she's asbsolutely beautiful! I think Treefox might be right, though...? You've got the eyes one eye-width apart, and as I understand it, that's right -- but with the curve of her face in the 3/4 view, what *looks* like an eye-width might be a shade more.

Also, I see you've drawn the eyes and mouth much darker than most of the rest of the picture. I think it makes her look mysterious and intense, but it might be making those features jump out at you? (And might be evidence of you having drawn, redrawn those parts many many times?) The actual shapes of the eyes and mouth look perfect to my eyes...
In Darie - Posted Feb 18, 2011
*grin* Well, I'm weird. I usually start with the top of the hair and work my way down the page! Probably not too artistically sound, but it works for me...
In Darie - Posted Feb 15, 2011
Those sketches from Wendy you mentioned -- I was looking at them the other day! They're at ElfQuest.Com, under "Fun Stuff" then "How to Draw".
In Darie - Posted Feb 14, 2011
Me neither, but I did have a thought... Did you draw the head first, or last? What if you tried the reverse of whichever it was? If you're having trouble, for example, fitting the head onto the existing body or vice versa? *shrug* That kindof thing sometimes has helped me on things, but this is more advanced than I've gotten to with art in the first place, as poisitions go. :P
In Blacksnake - then and now - Posted Feb 12, 2011
You know, looking at this picture again it seems like the one on the left shows his fierce, wolfish, intimidating-elder-hunter side a little more, while the one on the right seems (while still tough and intimidating ;) ) more like the grandfather figure to the cubs. Maybe it's something in his posture on the right version vs. left version, I'm not sure. I like the brighter colors on the one on the right, but there's just *something* there on the one on the left... I'm glad you can't make it vanish, 'cept I don't wish that kind of irritation on a fellow artist! (But I like it anyway!)

Don't get me wrong -- I see what you mean about the difference in art. For one, the clothing wrinkles on his pants showing indications of his knees on the right, but it just looks like a softer pair of pants to me. Seems like using darker/thicker black outlines agrees with your art here, too. :)

I'll bet it took hours! It paid off. :)
In Piggyback - Posted Feb 11, 2011
Wow! Your characters are not only recognizable, but little Zoetgras is very recognizable from picture to picture as a *baby*!
