In Joyleaf - Posted Sep 10, 2011
I just love the way the sepia looking effect on this. Looks like it was drawn on parchment. As for how easy it is to make it Joyleaf look like Dolly Parton, I think you managed to avoid that.
In A life I can take away! - Posted Sep 10, 2011
Damn, now I'm jealous. Always wanted to see real life wolves.

One thing which bugged me is that when many people make their own elf hybrids, they choose cats. Not unrealistic, most people know how cats interact. However, I found it unoriginal and still partly do.

If I was to choose another elf hybrid then I'd have to choose no-humps. My sister has taught horsemanship and though i'm not an expert I know the nature of the horse far better than forest pigs and seals. :)

I love elf-hybrids. They are so fascinating, much because of their struggle between the songs, if they're single cross. So is the behavior of those who aren't, especially if the things they do are things which is frowned upon in elfin culture.

Sadly most of mine are of creatures I haven't particularly studied. Even though I've watched and heard the seals not far from our hut, I don't know their entire social structure. Same with Carneek, my elf/forest pig mix. (Reminds me, Nilla, can you put him up here please?)

I just love the way Marut spits out his drink on the bottom one.

Berit, you're very welcome! He was very fun to draw. Especially when I discovered that in order to draw him with that pen you had to twirl your wrist in order to use it. It amazes me how much you can correct your pen drawings despite not being able to use the eraser to get away you bad stuff.

Edit: NOOO! I has stuff to write! XD

Treefox, I'm afraid that when I draw I have to use A5 paper to feel comfortable. A4 or larger is just too big for my hands to work with, even if it's glued to a board or something similar. Unless it's finger paint, which isn't the same. Hm... now I want to use finger paint XD

Thank you! When I finally had a working pen in my hand I thought of how Berit uses nearly all mediums there is, and it felt fitting to draw him. I'm very pleased with the result.
In Out Cold - Posted Sep 09, 2011
You know, this my favorite image of yours. The choice of colors is so fitting to the scene you portray here. I agree that Redlance is a nice choice for this well picked scene.

Or if you're one of the people who thinks that exposing a child to a mother who is breastfeeding is the same as raping the said child. Yes they do exist. Met them even... that aside I love this. Poor Nightfall, that must hurt.
In Leetah-Little star cousins - Posted Sep 09, 2011
Indeed, this is so incredibly pretty! At first glance I thought that it was a green skinned elf, and thought cool! Then my brain kicked me hard, and I saw who it is. Star cousins aren't often shown in fanart, so it was a pleasant surprise.
In But... - Posted Sep 08, 2011
Why, of course. Both of them fit so well. I plan to write their story when my drawing muse starts calming down.
In Maybe because you think you're near - Posted Sep 08, 2011
Treefox: That's good to hear! I always fear that they all look the same to be honest. Yes, I find it a lot easier to do a profile picture than frontal. A frontal often makes me feel that it doesn't belong there, it seems like it's stuck rather awkwardly on a neck.

Comet: You should try! Always fun to try new things, no? :)

Oh, cool! Always wished my ears did that. XD
In Meeting the bear-elf - Posted Sep 08, 2011
Bear-elves! What a neat concept. I had a human culture where those who leaned more against the physically strong was protected by bears once. Particularly love his claw like nails. Terra's ear points very much down, almost as if her hair is pushed down by her hair. She looks rather cornered, which makes me wonder what they are saying.
In Rayek & Terra pencil drawing - Posted Sep 08, 2011
Oh, nice work! Especially on the shading on their faces. Terra looks like a Roman high class lady in this.
In Huntress Skyfire - Posted Sep 08, 2011
Skyfire is one of my least favorite chief's. I understand her rage over the unfairness of it all, and how she became who she became, but yet I cannot like her. That being said, I really like her here. She isn't angry or anything here, which is a nice break. As for critique, my problem with her left leg is that it looks like it is twisted under her knee. Another thing is the eye color. I like it, and Skyfire seems to change eye color a lot. Wendy drawn it as a very pale blue, BoTC artist drew it as dark blue, then green and in Hidden Years it is very green. Though being said, the honey color in this piece suits her the best.
In Honey and Mooncrier (update) - Posted Sep 08, 2011
This image takes me back to the day I discovered ElfQuest. Started out with Wolfrider, and it took me painfully long time to understand that the elves were small. I always thought that the wolves were bigger, seeing that this was an ancient world. I especially like Mooncrier's fur.  Honey's hair is gorgous, short haired characters are nice, just as seeing not white blond characters. About Honey, I really like her a character. (Yes, I lurk on the site.) I can relate to how her frustration of how her life turned makes her lash out against others. When I'm not with my relatives people see me quite differently, and I'm sure if she met other tribes they would too.
In Embala as a Skyskimmer - Posted Sep 07, 2011
Indeed! Particularly love the halfway barren landscape. It fits so well, concerning how many planets she visits. Concerning the face, i have the same problem when working from the front. From the side I rarely meet that problem... there I meet the never ending problem of making the face features sharp or not. Another thing I do is to make the neck lines first.
In Shenah - Posted Sep 07, 2011
That's a legend I have never heard off. How cool! When I decided that they were of seal blood it was because someone had shot one and left it to die. Eventually it washed up on the nearest beach, early one morning. :( Plus that I can hear them every time I visit the ocean. Since they've been unamed for the longest time, maybe I should call them Selkies XD
In Fire and Ice - Posted Sep 07, 2011
This picture is gorgeous. I've always liked your work, especially those with Skywise. He isn't my favorite character, but your portrayals of him are so very good that I disregard it. (Also, i want to know if you can upload the artwork you did for Leanans "Beyond Mere Flight?" Kind of miss it here....) And also, the way Ember has her hand on his ear has made me utterly convinced that she has an ear fetish. XD
