Amberfox @ Yes, it's the same sash - thank you for noticing ;D And yes, when we started Thunderwater Holt Sundazzle was a fluffy party girl who had never bothered to pick up a weapon, and when you live in a jungle with lots of dangerous animals that's just not very smart. Later she almost got mauled by a panther and finally got some sense in her skull. That's a few game years ago now and she has indeed matured. She's the one protecting family and friends now, instead of the other way around. :D

Though, I think some of the maturity comes from the fact that she was the very first elf I picked up, back when I was 15, so I think we matured together ;)

Thank you so much ladies, you really made my day! :love

Treefox @ Another of my elves already wears a gazillion braids and I hardly ever draw him. So, considering that Sundazzle is my usual doodle elf it's just better I give her a hairstyle I won't start hating in a second :lol

Thank you, darling ;)
In Krim - Posted Apr 24, 2012
If she is (or was) unpopular I never heard about it. Krim is easily one of my most favourite elves, I appreciate her raw edge and fearless warrior persona. I can see why some might think of her as a "flat" character but I like her simplicity--plus the fact that she has just a little more sense in her skull than Skot ever did. They way you depict her here seems to really fit her character, and I agree with Treefox, she really pulls off the 80s look. :D Critique-wise the only thing that springs to mind is her mouth and nose area; they are too low on her face, I think.

Thank you :D

Thank you so much :)
In Yurek - Posted Apr 19, 2012
Bishi indeed! But he caries it well I must say, as most High Ones seem to do. I recognized him right away (never mind the title). I really like his hands for some reason, you've really captured those super-slender (and a bit spidery) pianist hands High Ones are usually depicted to have. Well done. Only minor critique is that I think Yurek was more of a redhead than a brunette :P

Thank you everyone, your input have been a great help :D
In Nightfall - Posted Apr 11, 2012
Wow! You've completely captured Nightfall with this one. I'm awestruck, your style fit so well for these elves. Well done :D

I've uploaded my progress with this painting, I've worked a lot on the shadows and highlights--a big thank you to all four of you, your advice has really helped (and still helps). I'd still appreciate advice and critiques of my progress (http://www.elfquestfanart.com/index.php?action=media;sa=item;in=3987) :D

@Amberfox - The light source is supposed to come from the side. I see what you mean about the background, I actually didn't catch that until now. I haven't put any work into it since blocking out the colours in the very beginning. I'll definitely have to look into fixing that, the light should come out from the left :)

I adore his expression! I'm reminded of when he pick-pocketed Newmoon's pommel from Picknose when he and Cutter fled the hut... he just sat there, proud as a peacock, with this exact face. Ah, sorry for rambling, I've always been exceptionally fond of Skywise. Really well done, Maggie, it's just perfect. Oh, and I love the idea with the frame. New line of products from Redlance? :D

Oh dear, the pink will be spreading, won't it? *flees*
In Moonshade - Posted Apr 05, 2012
Ooh, she looks so lovely here. Dat bum! :lol Great composition as well - too bad that it won't be in the calendar but at least we can ogle her here on the board.

Maggie @ Thank you, and thank you for dropping in with a comment anyhow ;)

Treefox @ Thanks! Oh, and don't worry about that, I asked for it, didn't I? It's easy to go "blind" when working on the same thing for a while - for me the only remedy is having other people take a look at it to find the mistakes. Like now, I didn't notice that her mouth was askew at all :lol

Oh dear, I've been gone for such a long time - what a wonderful thing to return to! You really nailed Sundazzle, thank you so much for drawing her! All in all this is a very lovely line up of gorgeous ladies. Very nice! :D

Thank you all so much!
In Krim by Julie Elliott - Posted Jan 02, 2012
Thank you all very much!

@Treefox, yes, I used copic markers for all my calendar entries. To be fair I did start over a few times though that was mostly Venka warranting such attention. I learned a lot while colouring Krim though, I'm glad it turned out alright :D

Thank you =)
In Ember and Mender - Posted Nov 29, 2011
This is gorgeous! I agree with Treefox, you managed that "getting to know each other again" vibe so well on their faces and with their body language. Really well done on that. And Choplicker is just to sweet - please continue with your work :D
In Dyara - Posted Nov 29, 2011
Very nice! I adore the bright and sunny colours - and her topknot ponytail! :D
