Hmmm...maybe I'm banned from seeing it.
In Cub Songjoy - Posted Jan 16, 2024
Seriously, I would pay for that. Amberfox with his deep voice (baritone-near bass) and Songjoy with his alto-tenor/countertenor voice (high pitched for an adult male), Amberfox with his somewhat cynical lyrics with a humorous spin and Songjoy's mystic, fanciful lyrics...I demand a front row seat!

I'm going to post his CIS soon. Hopefully he'll ease up on me after posting the art and CIS. He's a character that's not my usual, so I admit I do struggle with aspects of him. Still, being a musician, I should just sic Amberfox on him; they'll be jamming all night long.
In Leetah - Posted Jan 16, 2024
Really? I'm logged in (always am), but I still don't see them.
In Leetah - Posted Jan 16, 2024
I was thinking pretty much the same thing. I realize we all pitch in, but as I've said before, there are times that seem so painfully slow with such little activity. I already have ideas for next year's calendar, if Songjoy will give me a break. I noticed we already seem to have lost someone; notice the missing illos about the lion bonded elves? Sigh.

Her outfit and necklace gave me the impression of a blend, but I'm a bit behind again on my reading. Yes, I will be your art cheerleader out here - go Treefox! New art! New art! I also understand about taking time. I'm still working on a TON of art that is so backlogged I'll never catch up. And Songjoy is sucking up that time. Hopefully, I'll retrieve my color pencils soon and get back into the swing of things.

He has wide, high set cheekbones that retain a "boyish" look about him, as well as slightly rounded eyes. And there's that omnipresent smile...
In Songjoy - Posted Jan 16, 2024
Oh, you have to work exceptionally hard to wipe that smile off his face; he not only is nearly always smiling, he takes nearly everything with bemusement. In addition, he's an empath, not only can he pick up on other's minds and emotions, but he constantly exudes a calming, content sensation around him. Get in a short radius of him, and you'll just be feeling pleasantly content. Unless he wants you to draw or write about him, then he's a pest.

I'd really need to see these side by side to make any sort of judgement call since flipping back and forth isn't working for me to really tell the difference. Can I just say they're both stunning? Eagerly looking forward to the next installment!

Wow! Praise the High Ones I'm stuck at home due to weather conditions! This is gorgeous, and I've been eagerly waiting for new Treefox art! And you say you're drawing MORE? Yea! This is truly stunning, and I think you captured her perfectly. Is this a look of your own design or from the latest comic? To me, it seems a blend of old and new, especially the necklace. Strangely, the two aspects that really draw my attention are the hairband (love the look and symbolism) and oddly enough, her nose. It's so detailed, something I still struggle with, and it looks so real. The face is wonderfully detailed, especially with the warm skin tone. And excellent job on the eyes!
In Not Drawn to Scale by Katrina Joyner - Posted Dec 31, 2023
The bird in the nest and on the ground just make this for me. Too damn hilarious! I think this is what we all need during this very contemplating time to remind us to smile, even laugh. Love what Petalwing has done with its hat - just funny!
In Losing the Flight by Czarine - Posted Dec 31, 2023
I was instantly in love with the full body illo of this when you posted the sketch. You brought him to life so perfectly, and somehow he looks pretty damn sexy, too. How do you do that? But, looking at the final product, that facial is equally stunning! Again, you managed to really capture his essence, but make him really handsome as well. The limited colors are so atmospheric they really lend the perfect feel for this. Gorgeous!
In A Full Life by Treefox - Posted Dec 31, 2023
The sketch you premiered earlier has NOTHING on the final product! Wow! This is gorgeous, and such detail in the leaves and that very happy wolf face. One cannot help but smile with Nightrunner when looking at this. I'm honestly not one for autumn, but this truly sets a lovely stage for such a great character. I think this would make a perfect poster or painting in any room.
In The Bone Woman's Prayers by Odin Strand - Posted Dec 31, 2023
Fun addition to the calendar! She somehow seems less...er..troll-like in this, and there's a strange serenity in her praying (or would that be preying?). I actually think you've done her a lot more justice than her image from the series. The limited color palette also fits the mood of this.
In Vintage by Maggie Atkinson - Posted Dec 31, 2023
The light and shading in this is perfect, and Old Maggoty needs a lot more love. You truly captured her personality in this; such an enigma, at once playful and charismatic, and at the same time, a bit shady and manipulative. I always wondered what she knew about the history of the races and just how much she was involved. Definitely an interesting character and deserving of being in the calendar.
In Lessons in Patience by Saree - Posted Dec 31, 2023
Love the mood here, and I agree that I can easily see this happening more than once. Savah always seemed so amazingly patient and kind, definitely a perfect mentor for Suntop and a loving Elder for Ember. Her bemused grin just really takes this for me, but the sandal is a nice touch, too. Love the color work in this as well, so vibrant and saturated. Beautiful and sweet! Great to see your work again, Saree!
In Under a New Sun by Treefox - Posted Dec 31, 2023
I really love this one! I always liked this pair, and they seemed so stoic, but here, you can really get a sense of the love they have between them and the joyous feeling they have with their new adventures. The colors are so bright and vibrant, and that reflection off the Palace. So lovely, and the wonderful characters in it - I really love this entry. Amazing work, Treefox! You always capture the personalities of the characters in your work.
In A Fruitful Future by Veronica Lacquement - Posted Dec 31, 2023
I don't know why, but I'm mesmerized more by the images in the background. The preservers are fun, the wolves are wonderful, and is that Strongbow? The preserver contemplating the feather just grabs my attention. Great shade work on Aroree reflecting the leaves, and what excellent work on the difficult foreshortened pose!
In Sleep Now, Pups by Swev - Posted Dec 31, 2023
I agree with the ethereal-ness of this. The luminescence is gorgeous and really emphasizes Timmain's beauty. The wolves around her are fantastic, and each with an individual personality. This is where I would love to be - the dense forest surrounded by wolves in the light of the moons!
In Spring Day by Wintergreen - Posted Dec 31, 2023
I don't know why, but I've always really liked Urda, and you really captured her in this. I am also really drawn to the calm, quiet mood of this, like she's truly taking in the spring and reflecting on a new year (much like the rest of us at the moment I'm typing). I like that the reindeer was included, she seems to have a close bond with it, and it's great to see that. Wonderful image for spring, and with a great character!
