The Other Art Gallery / Re: Yeee`s not EQ stuff
« on: May 05, 2023, 04:16:26 AM »
Use the reply button in stead of the quick reply. Then there's a button underneath the B for bold text, it says insert image. Paste the URL to the image between the code and it will show up in your message once posted. The image should be hosted on a site that allows hotlinking though.

I don't need that long, I can't decide anyway. ':)
I like so many of these, and love the one that is currently ahead, even though I didn't vote for it!

Doesn't look like you need an account. I'm playing the 1st episode as I'm typing this.
I've also followed another podcast before on apple, listened to all of theirs without an account.

Choosing our own theme is both freeing and intimidating!
I'm think I'm gonna reread every EQ book I have first to inspire me. ;)

Guides & Guidelines / Re: Image Embedding
« on: May 06, 2021, 01:38:50 AM »
From the gallery here you can simply go to the picture you want to embed, and then copy the BBC embed code underneath the picture (it looks like [ smg id= number ] ). Paste that in your message in the forum, and it will show as a thumbnail in your post. People can click on it to go to the bigger image, and even check the info that was posted along with it.
For external images please make sure hotlinking is allowed for that server, and personally I would say; only link images that are yours. You can use the [ img ] tags, I think are also shown in the elaborate reply settings (don't use Quick reply, it shows no formatting options).

[Edit] When you click Modify on your post, you can also get there, like I'm doing now. :D The image linking icon is the one underneath the Bold text setting. Hoover over it and it says Insert image. Paste the URL between the img codes.

If Wacom is holding a Mermay related contest, then they can set their own rules for that.

For Mermay itself however, there are no rules (just in general that it happens in May and is about (fantasy) creatures of the sea). You're not even obligated to use their prompts. You don't have to participate in the contest, just ignore it and do your own thing, the way you did last year.

What is your first language? There are many here for whom English is second. Perhaps we could help out if you need more explanation in your native tongue.

I liked so many of these as well. I voted, but I don't mind us doing these one by one the coming years either, haha.

You guys... it's so awesome looking... :o
I'm gonna go around and comment in the gallery too, but just as a general message: Wow!

I posted my picture on IG and it was shared in the official EQ page stories as well!
It would be nice to get some extra traffic to this place.

No daily challenges for me any time soon, but perhaps we could give it our own twist? Draw yourself as an Elfquest sea-elf. With or without tail. ;) Just what you feel fits you! As a character design, or with a full background interacting with your favourite sea creature.

Something like that I'd be able to manage. ;D

Art and Elfquest / Re: Elfquest RPG Character Dice Guide
« on: March 21, 2021, 09:03:33 AM »
In case you don't have the required dice, here's a virtual one: https://dobbelsteen.virtuworld.net/?z=100
You can alter the number of sides (like 20 or 100), and the number of dice required, and then clicking Werp (Dutch for throw) it will give random results.
Of course real dice are more fun, but if you don't have access to the non 1d6 kind, this can be helpful (results are also quicker, in case you need to create many characters).

I skipped to the part where the Pinis are interviewed. It was nice to hear them talk about it with such enthusiasm.
I myself am most interested in the 4th novel they were talking about. :D

Guides & Guidelines / Re: Mature Art Access and Albums
« on: February 20, 2021, 02:42:50 AM »
I'm not sure I quite understand your question...
But one can't really search by access options. People put their own tags under their work, and it's usually by subject (like troll or Skywise or a holtname). The gallery is divided into personal folders. But if one searches for Skywise for example, then all pictures that are tagged Skywise will show up, no matter in which folder they are placed. If pictures are labelled as mature content (I think this can only be done by folder not by picture, but I'm not sure; hopefully someone else can answer that), then one will only see them show up if one has mature access.
I hope that answers your question. If not, then please elaborate.

Lots of things got postponed (or cancelled), unfortunately. At least this project is still on track.
Can't wait to share it, but I can also be patient!

You are not stupid, Yavia. You offered it as an idea back then while we were brainstorming, please don't feel bad about it.

Living indoors can be applied to any of the tribes really, they all cuddle up and sleep somewhere, or have days where it's too cold or other weather conditions that are unwanted (like heat during draught in the desert). Wouldn't mind seeing some cosy Wolfrider dens, like when they're asleep, but you can still see the sun peaking in.
Actually, I can think of several situations for just the Wolfriders inside; like during a healing, or a cub being born, a sneaky hiding place during a game of Taal...

It is the situation we are in right now, true, but my introvert self doesn't see this as a bad thing of itself, and it's a fitting theme.

« on: January 15, 2021, 03:53:11 AM »
I basically like any theme that is open to ones own interpretation. I personally prefer to keep my picture always canon; I don't want to be forced to make a what if. Stuff like working in another persons style I also feel are too limiting.

As for the copyright mention for crossovers; the reason this was going to be a problem, was not us drawing the pictures, but us offering the calendar for sale. For EQ elements we have permission, for others we don't.

Putting them in a poll sounds like a good idea to me as well.
Though I'm unsure what Through the Comics is meant as..? Can anyone clarify?

I think homes and landscapes would be something else entirely! I like it, though it may prove too much of a challenge for people who are used to focus on the characters. I can see visions of like overview drone images though, like LOTR mountains and such, with perhaps a hint of a few elves to make it relevant for EQ. :D Or just a lovely shot of the Father tree and the feeling of home and belonging, or the emotions Skywise felt when he first saw the world from above.

Still fond of cliffhangers too.
No new ideas yet, will have to let it simmer. ;)

I'm the same as Startear, I don't think I ever went with the obvious characters either. I think I'll have to give myself some extra rules with this as well, like not using a character I've drawn before, even when it would technically count in this theme.
I don't want to go as far as unnamed either though. There's tons of characters that deserve some extra attention. I already have one character in mind that I was thinking about for another theme, that I think will fit this one as well!

I pick Cliffhangers and Villains & Hero's.
