Hi Maggie,

I understand that there is some delay for this year calendar but because it's already the end of January, is there something we could do for the person who's drawing has been choosen for this month (if it's already decided)? His/her work doesn't get the spotlight it deserves after the hard work. Maybe the month January can be uploaded?

And let me be clear (sometimes a bit of subtlety is lost in the translation) that I mean well to the participants. I don't blame anyone for the delay. It's just a waste of hard work and hope we can do something about it :) Hope I have been able to express myself properly.

Is there an online version of that?

Yes there is! Everyday life with the elves (there are 13 gags. The one with Trick or Treat is also very funny) See link below. You have to click on each image to see the whole gag. This is what I meanted with comedy.

https://elfquest.com/a-day-in-the-life/

We can also choose to do a little stroke of 2/3 panels with a gag or something funny. Like the examples on the link below:

Ah it would be great to think and sketch already for the next calendar.

First off all: Maggie, I'm glad you still want to go on with it :D Big howl for you :D:D

Second: theme. Hmm Personally I am not so found of landscapes. I mean I love beautiful landscapes but to be honest, there are lots of beautiful calenders available with landscape photo's. I want an ElfQuest calendar because of the characters and messages in the story.
So my choice would be Comedy (indeed, we all could use a laugh) like the funny scetches Wendy did years ago (and made the famous mistake to give Clearbrook 5 fingers :P) or another theme.
I can't wait to start :)

Hi Maggie,

Thanks for the reply/update. I hope Mr. Pini will decide quickly so the next step can be taken in the proces. Fingers crossed :D:D

And best wishes for all!

Hi Maggie,

I have read your message but I was wondering if there was news already. Is there a pre-order option? :D I would like to order as soon as possible because it always takes a while before I receive the package (like f.e. now I am already waiting for 5 weeks for an E.Q.order from Redbubble and still haven't received anything) and because of COVID , the lockdown, Christmas etc. mail takes even longer. At this rate, the year is half over by the time I receive the calendar ;) :-\ :ohno

BTW great news that everyone pitched in again and thanks to Maggie for the hard work :D:D

Hi everyone,

I was wondering how everything went with the new calendar. I don't see the threat we had before or I am mistaken and this was the only one. In that case nobody said anything since May :S
Are there any updates?

First, welcome Heidi, nice to get a new tribemember over here.

Lesser known characters it is.
Hmm I think the definition will be difficult but I think named characters like Vok, Murda, Zey, Yurek (Savah's lifemate and great-, great-, great- greatgrandfather of Ahdri), Minyah, Vuurdah, Marleen, Thiro, Serrin, Bowki, the Rootless Ones, most Wavedancers, Harotim and other new High Ones, most preservers, most Trolls, most Wolves, chiefs and tribemates before Bearclaw etc. are no problem. In my opinion characters like Rillfisher, Bethia, Woodlock's family (but not Mender), Vaya, are also okay by me because their role was small in all the storylines.
The Rebels? They are maincharacters in that storyline but in the greater good of ElfQuest they are very small and lesser known (especially compared to Jink).

To solve the problem of main charaters combined with lesser known characters, maybe we can solve that by placing the maincharacters in their younger years. F.e. Thiro with a very young Leetah (f.e. in the background) in a scene that makes clear what there role/interaction is.

Hope my opinion helps settle the guidelines.;)

Only two days left... curious what's it going to be.
I also placed a message on the official FBpage. Hopefully people will vote and maybe we even get some new participants :)

Okay I missed this whole tread (again no notification received by mail :( ) but I am willing to participate. I love the theme comedy (f.e. like the short jokes Wendy made but do we have enough ideas for that) and maybe someting about chiefs and their loved ones? Not only the Wolfriders chiefs but all Chiefs (Savah, Surge, Kahvi, Dart during New Blood, Olbar, Petalwing, Greymung, Nightrunner etc.), elves, preservers, trolls, humans and animals alike.
Movieposter is also a challenging idea :)

I think voting by poll is great and when the members who want participate really have issues with the choosen theme, we can talk about it. But there are as many different opinions as there are particpants so we need to start somewhere.

This Covid-19 quarentine is a perfect time to start (when this is over most of us want to go outside and don't want to sit in a room inside drawing) so please don't wait too long. :D

Yes! I received mine today! I am curious about peoples opinions about it.
I love the images and it's good quality paper. Funny that I finally start to recognize peoples style😁 Well done folks!
The only 2 negatives for me are that the size is so small (while we have all made such high quality drawings) that the details are less visible and that it is printed on both sides. Maybe something to keep in mind for next year.
If someone can tell me how to get an attachement in a message in this forum I'll try to upload 2 pics with the calendars on it.😁

Ah I love it! Thank you Maggie!
Because I was too late to get one from 2019 I just ordered 2 calendars for 2020 (also handy because it starts with my drawing in Januari😉)!

And I placed on the ElfQuestpage on Facebook the following:

First off all: best wishes for everyone!
Second: A new year means a new ElfQuest fan calendar!😁
You can buy one on Zazzle (see link below).

https://www.zazzle.com/store/eq_fan_art_calendars

Give a big howl for the creators of the calendar and please support them by buying one so that they can keep continuing making more. And new drawings/artists and input are welcome on: http://www.elfquestfanart.com😁🐺

HI Maggie,

Can you give us an update? Did everything worked out fine? Do you have enough entries? Did you and Elfpop go over the entries? Is he willing to help? And when can we place our order? ;)

A few days too late (emailed a few weeks ago that I would not finish on time) but I rushed to finish my entry. Hopefully it's good enough and will it get into the calendar.

Maggie> how many entries do you have by now?

I am more of a reader and admirer of all the beautiful work made on the site. I don't post much but I would miss it if this site were canceled. I would also miss the calendars.
I understand the annual stress and doubt, but so far it has always worked out well. ;) In fact: I, as an artist who contributed to this year's calendar, was too late to get one myself :S
Hopefully this year it will go so well again and with the help of the Pini's it will get attention again.

Art and Elfquest / Anyone has a fancalendar 2019 for sale?
« on: June 25, 2019, 01:19:46 PM »
Hello everyone,

Due to personal circumstances, I was unable to purchase the 2019 fan calendar earlier (for which I also made a contribution to honor my love mate). Is there anyone who has 1 left (or at the end of the year) and wants to sell? Please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Well, should we now start thinking about possible topics for next year?

Yes! I'm in. Which themes didn't made it for this year? Do we start a new poll?

I am so glad it worked out😁 I will order one very soon.
Thank you all (espacially Maggie)!

(And now we can think about the calendar for 2020😜)

Hi Maggie,

Is it a good idea to already start a poll about which theme we want for next year? Opening a threat for suggestions and holding a poll will also take some time. Maybe in the meantime it's clear which company prints the calendars and we can start immediately with the details. In that way we don't loose as much time because people also need time to think about their subject when they know what the theme will be.
And if someone already starts drawing it's his/hers own responsibility when it turns out that the calendar details are slightly off.

And it's just fun to think about the themes and speculate which one it turns out to be ;)
