After drawing Voll and Ekuar for these past two calendars, I kind of like a theme of "Tribal Elders - past and present". It's a way of showing well loved characters (or maybe even lesser know background characters) with wisdom and grace - but in the setting of the artists own choosing.

I'll have my entry done well before this weekend if everything goes as planned (just tidying up the last bits and pieces).  :D

But if there was all that work and it will not even be a calendar, I would be devastated, not only for myself but for all the others still participating.  :'(

I'm not really good at "speed drawing" digitally (and digital is my main medium), but if that's what it takes to have enough entries to fill the calendar, I hereby offer to do another one. It would probably have to be in another medium like watercolour or the like, as I work faster on paper than on the computer, but then the finishing touches will still be done digitally. My only (?) problem is that I will be away from home from Oct. 22. until Oct. 28, so that leaves me give or take a *gulp* :o week to finish the second entry. But I'm willing to try, if that's what is needed to finish enough entries for the calendar! :)

I'm still in, and I'm really enjoying the process - and progress - so far!  :D

Thank you, jaRf, that is exactly the flashback I was referring to (when Ekuar is shown the fingerbone).

And I will use Rogue's Curse for reference, but as that story is only in black and white I will have to be a bit more inventive regarding the looks and colourings of Osek and Mekda - which only makes it more fun! :-D

I'm soooo looking forward to this! I'm drawing Ekuar with Osek and Mekda, but what part of their saga the scene will depict, I'll keep under wraps for now.  ;)

And yeeees, I know we never meet Osek ALIVE i OQ, but as his bones are present and he is shown in the flashback Ekuar has, so I count him as a OQ character. And Mekda (as "Sack-O'-Bones") is definitely a OQ character, even if her appearance is rather brief and disturbing...  :'(

I didn't receive an email this time - only saw the message because I logged in. But there is nothing in my spamfilter either, so I don't know what happened, normally I receive email notifications as well. ???

I'm absolutely down for doing another submission next year! This year was my first time participating, and it really rekindled my love for art again, after a few years of not being able to draw much. Twelve months of Redlance, or - as many have said before - any Wolfrider-Elder could be a really interesting take on it. To see the history unfold through the eyes of just one individual has the potential to be quite powerful.
