Chit-Chat / Re: Has someone ever given you EQ related gifts?
« on: August 11, 2011, 01:00:37 PM »
Hm, quite a lot of people made me gifts related to elfquest. Windleben gave me my very first Elfquest comic. My grandmother gave me the next one and than my husband and other very good friends added more. It was such a wonderful time collecting all these great issues. So I'm totally exited about new material ;).

Hi Saree

The normal opaque white I know from my old school days is from Pelikan or Marabu. There is also white ink (weiße Tusche) from Pelikan, but I've never tried it before.

Art and Elfquest / Re: [Tools of the Trade] Printer - which to buy?
« on: April 05, 2011, 10:28:39 AM »
I have an Epson Stylus DX5000 all-in-one printer (scanner, printer). It's already 4 years old, but I'm still happy with it. I can remember that I paid 70 GP (70 Euro) for it. The scan software is o.k. and really good in combination with a graphical software like PaintShop or Photoshop.
I think the successor model is the Epson Stylus SX218 (80 Euros) and a cartridge set (all 4 colors) together is about 40 Euros.
Another very good funktion is the possibility to copy pages without a computer.

I printed on 170g/qm thick paper, used watercolors and the ink was o.k. :) But just try it to find out if it works or not. My experience is that the ink of a ink-jet printer is even better than the one of a laser jet printer.

I use  Faber-Castell, edding or copic multi liners but the latter are quite expensive :(

Welcome back Saree ;)

Also, @Silber: your pumpkin girl is fabulous!  Does she have a name?  Is she a hunter? farmer? magic user?  You've got me interested! :D

Nope so far I have nothing. Neither name nor anything else. :/ But I think I will make a small CIS for her. :)

Oh, I would like to have a drawing too :) But give me some time to think which character I want  ::)

O.k. I made up my mind :) So far there is no CIS for this character but a drawing:

I have the setting 1440*900 (wide screen ???), but I use a laptop.
Well, the standard 1024 x 768 is good, but there should be also a widescreen one. I would say between 1280 x 1024 and
1400 x 1050.
Anyway, I want to thank you so much for the wonderful fan calendar we get every year. Yes, the artists do also their part for the project, but it is also you, who organize and put everything together to this wonderful gift. Also thank you to all other helpers :)

Hi aurianfae, welcome to elfquestfanart :)

The holt list at elfquest.com is indeed very old, so I thought I give you some newer ones.

Afke made this list:   http://afke11.com/frozenrain/holts/

A newer list at the boards of elfquest.com:

http://elfquest.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=41&sid=7272f456f14e61868695135934ecb812

Hope you will find a holt for your creativity.
