That is gorgeous! Maybe a little bit too shiny but I know it's part of your style, which I adore, so it works in its own way. Lovely colouring too :D

He is very passionate, that's for certain *cough* However he is more stern and brash now than he was when he was younger. Getting voted in as the chief after his mentor (old chief) died caused some changes :D

Naw, I see what you mean. Will keep that in mind for next time - and thank you so much :D

Oh, no worries. And thank you :)
In Survivor Skywise - Posted May 30, 2012
Ooh, I read those! They were so hilarious. I think the lady who made those was also behind the Swift-verse (alternative universe where Cutter is female) and wrote a book of her own called Aetherworld. I can't remember her name though.

But, that's not what's important here... Skywise looks like he's just fine chilling out like that. Very in character, when you look past the civilian clothes, which fit him rather well I must say :P Well done!

Thank you ladies :D

Thank you! And you're completely right, the left is her explorer outfit and the right is a dressed-down back home outfit. So glad it came across :D

Thank you so much ;)

Amberfox @ Not on purpose, no, but I've been told so before so I think it's something I generally have a hard time doing properly. Need more practise :P

Very nice! Even though she appears older here, judging by her expression and outfit, you've let her keep a little of that softness we saw in early ElfQuest albums. I can only applaud this, I never warmed up to hard edges she got later on. And the pose seems natural enough, even though the spear or pike is outside the picture. It works ;)

Thank you very much :D
In Flight - Portrait - Posted May 24, 2012
Thank you, ladies. Naw, his chin did turn out a tad too big. I always find the neck/chin area difficult to do from this angle. And I'm not sure what Flight's going to think... he hasn't seen her in the past 8 years but I suspect he'll always think of her as a fluffy airhead :P

Thank you so much, ladies! :D

...is there a game going on?  ???

Art trade is two or more people exchanging pieces of art with each other, kind of like a Secret Santa game... but I'm not sure why you're asking me about that?

As for telling Haka's story without a background, I honestly have no clue. I just started sketching and threw some colours in :)
In Skywise - Posted May 14, 2012
I concur, there's definitely a strong Wendy-vibe in this style. Skywise does appear a bit too buff but who's to say he isn't aiming to become the next Treestump? :D And while this isn't his usual upbeat expression it's nice seing him in another mood for once. Well done :)

Amberfox - Nope, bone and rock all the way. This tribe has no trolls in their vicinity and none of the elves are magical, not even a single rockshaper, so they have absolutely no access to metal ;)

Fawn Silverstream - Thank you very much :D
In Threemates - Posted May 10, 2012
It was the chief's decision who were to stay and who were to go. And no, not this time, they belong to three other members from the Thunderwater Holt group. From top to bottom: Slipstream, Mountain and Foxburr :D
In Haka - Posted May 10, 2012
Thank you so much! Yes, her knife is actually just a sharpened piece of bone so it doesn't have a hilt :)
In Haka - Posted May 10, 2012
Thank you very much :D
In Pastel Ember - Posted May 10, 2012
Aw, she looks so cheerful. You really caught that Ember-vibe, well done. Wonderful colours, too :D

branchscamper @ It varies a lot. Some, like this one, I thought while on my way to school so when I finally had time to draw a sketch of it I did so quickly. Then I spent a while refining the design and adding/rethinking details. Other times I really have to force it - or, I try to and end up failing. I did one recently and it took me 3 or 4 days to make the outfit just right.

Usually I come up with a style first, then if it can be twisted into something practical (for elves) then I go with it. If not, I either scrap it or name it a "special occasion outfit" :hah
