ElfQuest Fan Art

I wasn't planning on doing more EQ art for a bit, but then I realized that I could use Tynami's sketch to experiment with a color palette I've been itching to use (it's a very elfquest-ish color palette, and not very suitable to the more realism-focused Jungle Fire).  So I snuck in some time here and there while working on other stuff.  No doubt it's my brain's backlash against the less bold colors of art markers.  

Kudos go to conceptart.org and their online color theory class.  Really blew my brain off in a good way.

And the second version of my Elfquest elf-self. Her skin darkened because I decided that in temperment I am most like a jack-wolf rider than any other sort of elf...aka, a wanna-be wolfrider. I indulged myself in some faux-importance and decided that Yereh the jackwolf rider was the offspring of Bowki (Dart's son) and Windstone (pure-blood jackwolf rider who led the defense of Sorrow's End in one of the barry blair books).

That there is an atlatl that she's using, btw. I like atlatls. They are fun to say.

Yahooo, I drew nilla's character Beyond! During the early Easter mornings I sketched away and came up with my version of nilla's highly interesting character. I so had this rather wild and strange pose in mind and am so happy I got it out on paper now. It was LOADS of fun!  I exaggerated proportions quite a lot, but it just seemed fitting. I hope it's not too much. And I am a total whimp, I didn't dare to color those patches around his eyes on the original drawing, so those are completely digital. The rest is all traditionally done with lots of copic work, water colors and stabilos.

Some sketches of Yereh in my journal, and a bit of marker practice. I don't have the right colors to attempt coloring her in her pale dress, so I left that one alone.

Trying out some new brushes and experimenting with a new coloring-style...and a new character as well - it seems Luna's Terra volunteered as model

As much as I like the characters of the Terra-verse, I've never gotten around to drawing any of them...until now!
I think my brain is stuck in pin-up-mode. That bikini just...happened.

I didn't really have any time to draw today, but suddenly this manifested itself during my lunchbreak. So please forgive the craptastic quality and complete and utter randomness.

Terra and Marut belong to Luna and Berit. And they're so much fun to draw!

We'll be doing a major timejump at Thunderwater Holt - a great excuse to redesign my elves' clothes 

Sundazzle is currently wearing the version on the left but she'll dress down eventually now that they are back home

Yay Its finally done and as you can see Fire really isn't my Forte but I tried ^^; on  side note I find that I quite enjoy the inked back grounds they are fun and it gets me more inking practice

I have been inspired.  

First attempt. Only pencil work, but better than nothing.

(I do not really like Fladders face... does not suit her somehow.)

here we see some changes in Marut's bodybuild when he is outside, surviving on his own and when he gets food too easily as a visitor in some tribes. he gets a little chubby, he might gain even more weight if he stayed longer, but usually the wind on the lone plains call to him so much that he must leave...

Strongbow also cried when reunited with Crescent later, and then probably had a dehydration headache.

Been having fun expanding my elf-self, a third-generation jackwolf rider.

Renamed her from Foxeye to "Yereh" (yehr-reh).  I figure if "ah" is light then "eh" can be the thing you see light with, aka "eye". And a "yer" is a fox. So she's Foxeye, but with a sunvillager name, not wolfrider. (Keeping Bowki as dad, so she is almost half wolfrider, but Kimo and Serrin didn't have wolfrider names, so I figure I'd follow the trend. And I don't want to reuse the name Foxeye for too many different characters. )

Anyhoo, will be coloring this in a bit, but am very pleased with a new inking method I've developed, so wanted to share it now.  

(And yes, I did get some inspiration for the dress from Padme's outfit It didn't start out that way, but when what I was designing reminded me of something, I went a'looking, and saw some things I wanted to borrow, namely the skirt.)
