ElfQuest Fan Art

Was thinking about some of the friendships that formed during the timeskip in KOTBW, like how Cutter kind of ended up being Tyleet and Venka’s surrogate dad. This took me about two and a half hours on Procreate.

I didn't quite make it in time, but close. So, here's the next entry in my portrait series, Rayek. What a complex character without whom Elfquest would not be what it is. His journey from being rather self-centered, arrogant and needing the confirmation of his worth from others to becoming the caring, often selfless officially certified hero that he is now. And his journey is not over! Will we see it's conclusion one day? Again, I tried to incorporate all the elements that shaped Rayek on his life's journey in this portrait.
Next will be the sketch for the calendar entry!

I like Venka and Tyleet's friendship as the only two their age in KotBW. Also, I'm not super great at lineless digital painting yet but I like how the light came out. I was going for late afternoon golden hour vibes and I think I got it.

A while ago Wendy Pini asked something like "what do you think would've been different if Elfquest was first published today?" Only thing I could think of was modernizing some outfits a little bit. Ember gets a crop top (gotta show off those abs) and an undercut!

Songjoy on his way to a musical performance in his holt. He loves to don fancier outfits, even snazzy ornamentation. This guy would wear makeup and/or roll in glitter if he felt like it. Anyway, he's put some thin silver coils in his hair, and he's bringing his beloved sistrum to the party. I should be posting the color versions of these soon, since it looks like I'm headed to my mother's next week. More to follow...

This took a long time to make and so many reworks, it's not even funny. I am pretty happy with the result, even though I do feel the single parts look better than the complete picture. I am pretty proud of the eyes and put a looooot of details into them, so I recommend to have a look at them in full size. 
I hope this will really become a series and I'm going to start the next one soon.

Sadly, I was ready to color the sketches of Songjoy (man, I need to get rid of that name) when I realized I had accidentally left all of my good color pencils at my mother's house from the holidays. Damn it! So, I thought I'd just go ahead and ink them in and go back and color when I visit Mom at the end of this month. So, this is Songjoy as a cub, about the time of his first major story. I plan on adding a bit more to the color version, but I thought I'd go ahead and post this.

Can anyone help? Startear, I think you said you had suffered a similar issue, but DEAR HIGH ONES, this guy has been harrassing me for about three or four months now. One day he just popped into my already crowded head and bitched slapped me into creating him. He just won't leave me alone and wasn't terribly happy or patient when I pushed him aside to complete my calendar entry. He pummeled me with complete stories and demanded yet more sketches of him as compensation. He came with his own background and name (which I really don't like, but he hasn't let me change it); he's insistent, incessant, and just won't give me a break! Aaaaaaaaaaa! Here are sketches I'm working on for him, even a cub illo because he demanded it. Seriously, anyone have any advice to get this guy to knock it off and give me a break?

Wanted to draw some expression, but this one taught me Ram isn't inclined to do make wide range of expression. His range is basically annoyed, concentrated/intense and maybe surprised. He doesn't smile.

Yavia's emoji challenge inspired me a bit more than the bigger piece I'm doing of Moonshade, so here's a silly sketch!
If anyone wanna colour this ridiculousness, elsewhere or in Anondraw, feel free!
