Bitter tears nine years apart

Okay, so I am posting this here as the Unforgotten past challenge folder did not allow me to upload a picture. While not my first drawing, it is the first time Cone, one of my longest living oc's, so it felt aproperiate. It was made in 2012 with a blue liquid pen, stressed out and in a bad place both financially and emotionally. The updated version is made in a better place, but I wanted to experiment drawing tears. Made with watercolor and some gouache.

Thank you! Nine years can really make a difference! Back then I was living a toxic and frankly abusive enviourment (it took me three years after the first picture to realize that was what I had gone through), dependent on my parents financially and didn't have my high school diploma.

Now I am living in my own apartment, I am more confident in my gender and sexuality presentation, finished my bachelor's degree at university, despite not being happy in my job I earn enough to pay my bills at the very least, and this year I am finally in therapy. So yeah, nine years can make a huge impact! I'm also doing art classes right now, I can already see things I want to improve, lmao.

Wow, what an incredible journey. I cannot really express how impressed I am by the way you chose to go and am sooo happy that it led to a better life! Such a journey is so, so hard and it takes so much strength. It feels so good to have a certain amount of control of your own life, living in a surrounding and with people that make you feel happy, safe and accepted.
Big hugs!
Looking forward on hearing how you will like your art classes!
