Our Holt #19: Prayer

In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. I also wanted to draw characters that haven't had a lot of time in the spotlight, for the most part. As always, the scanner just doesn't do the colors justice, but at least you can get an idea of what I was going for. I already have about a dozen characters drawn, but I intend to color them all instead of inking them. Takes longer, but I just felt like trying to do it. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. This is Prayer's sELF, Prayer. What is she holding? Well, I gave her a ceremonial staff, replete with feather, bead, and jewel decorations. I couldn't imagine her with a weapon. Perhaps she's on her way to heal, or a festival she's leading.

Everything in her looks so soft!

I love the details on the staff. Looks like it was made with magic!

What a beauty! The outfit again is so lovely with these little feather decorations. She looks so ethereal! That staff is goooorgeous!

Oh! truly a ice looking lady! she is very pretty and I really like the color of her clothes! and damn all those details on the staff! looks very pretty so it really fits the owner!...also, very nice an clear linearts!...

The staff looks like it was grown with magic in this form. It's so gorgeous! I love her outfit a lot. The dress just looks wonderful drawn with crayons... it is? The shading looks smooth and soft. Beautiful!

Thank you, I just hope Prayer feels the same! Yavia, I use almost exclusively color pencils and pens, throwing in some grease pencils and whatever else works for the color I need. Everything has at least three colors used to produce the effect, and this took surprisingly little time to color. When it came to the staff, I hit a wall and put it to the side. That's what actually took me the longest to color. I imagine it was magically shaped to produce something obviously NOT a weapon. Should've added some bells or something similar. Maybe next time. Or, in the trees as you please...
