Decided to try and do some ref drawings, focusing my high ones. Specifically Yionyi and Serrilur who I always have trouble with.
I tend to find refs I find really interesting or will force me to draw characters in situations they aren't used to. In this case it's Zharo (tallest man), because he's typically very stone faced and very hard to rattle.
I have no idea what they could be looking at that could explain their expressions. (I'm assuming something has gone wrong for somebody since Yionyi is smiling like that)
Characters are: Yionyi and Chenah in front, with Zharo, Serrilur behind them.

Love the pencil work! For me, it just seems to remind me of the reactions from the various cannon characters when the Palace showed up. Maybe they are stunned it still exists and don't want to go home. Anyway, love the expression on Yionyi's face; he looks like he's going to have a lot of fun with whatever it is they're looking at, which won't end well for...whatever it is.

Nice that you don't really know what your characters are surprised about. I love it when they take on a life of their own!
