Ironing bead wolves - 2019
by Berit
Hahaha! nothing fancy! just some quick ironing bead tests I did! that darkest colored “doberman” is actually supposed to be Laluna’s wolf friend Mudpaw but the gold of the beads melted off the surface and gathered on the middle! I honestly don’t know where to use beads that work like that, for me, they are pretty pointless!…

My cousin usually only irons one side, and then flip it, so the un-ironed side is the one that shows. Perhaps that could help next time? Though I find the gold ones remain prettiest on the rounded sides, and that would only show if you use them for necklaces or bracelets or something like that.
You came up with a good pattern btw. |

I'm always amazed and even inspired that you bravely tackle non traditional materials for art. I never would've thought to do this, but then, I don't even know what ironing beads are. I'm sure my maternal grandmother did; she was a very talented seamstress/clothier. I can barely repair a seam and I've never taken on the challenge of a sewing machine. The grey/white wolf I think is easiest to identify, so I lean toward that one most. I love the green eyes, though. I completely agree with Afke: great pattern!

I should do something far better with them to post here, but just wanted to share these quick things!... and about just ironing one side... I actually don't like how the beads look when not ironed, it's a matter of taste of course but I like to see them look more like pixels!...
and these are actual eye colors wolves can have in reality! though some are missing like brown and black/grey eyes... and Amberfox should try ironing beads! no clothier skills required to use them! they are just certain beads you can melt together using hot iron and certain paper... the one you use when you but something in the oven... what is it called?... baking paper?... |
