Aw, thank you all so much! Really, their bond always somehow spoke to me. So glad I could capture this friendship.
@ Yavia: I looked at a lot of bird pictures to find out how the surface of especially the shorter feathers look. Then I tried to achieve that effect the lazy way.

Love! I absolutely love your pic.
The pose of Aroree fits so perfectly! The Eye of Littletrill looks awesome. It just fixes Aroree directly, so precisely and I love the coloring and the sunlight. I'm glad you did this bond! because that two were in my list of ideas first - but I don't want to draw so many feathers again like in my Lord Voll calendar pic. Your solution to do the feathers looks great! |

What a bold composition! The fact that Littletrill fills up this much of the picture really drives home how somewhat strange the bond is, he could eat Aroree in a mouthful! As always it's technically beautiful and the sense of motion is just

Now that is some huge bird! And sunlight and morning glory above the clouds. Even though it might be a big and heavy animal, it all seems to float in a fresh morning breeze!
But also the characters seem to be beaming joy. The whole image emits a lot of blitheness and light-heartedness. |

There are indeed so many bonds to choose from! I had many ideas. But this bond always stroke as sweet and sad, I wanted to capture that. Thank you all for your kind words!
For me traditional media is still the nicest to work with. However, this has several after-effects in Gimp, not to say the least putting the characters together. My husband has helped me majorly with that. So my thanks to his big contribution! Man, I so hope I'll be able to draw more this year, but it looks to be another very busy year so far...  |

I want to fly in the sunshine and soar on the great winds! This is the best Aroree I have seen in fandom, so far -really; you out did yourself, Treefox. So touching and lovenly tender. Bird and rider are so happy to see each other. Rare indeed were moments of happiness for the chosen eight - but flying, ah (to quote a different 'Verse; but apropos ) "You can't take the sky's from me."
Thank you for choosing Aroree and Littletrill. There are so many more bonds on TWoTm to remember and explore, we could never get them all in one calendar. So good to see your art again. |

Not many of us use traditional mediums anymore but I'm so glad you still do. This is gorgeous! I think you really captured the love Aroree has for her bond.

Thanks! I was pretty much surprised that it turned out quite the way I imagined it. It was literally the first thing I drew this year and without practice I really tend to struggle. Not with this one, though. It was pure joy to draw. Aroree and Littletrill had such a lovely bond that ended so sadly. I wanted to cherish that friendship.
