My thoughts and intentions on each scene that I used to compose the final image.
Image quality had to be lowered for upload, but you'll find the images of the scenes in separate postings in better quality.

I'm sorry for the indirect upload, but sadly SMF (that is used here) would not allow me to upload any serious document format (pdf, odt). But it was just checking extensions (not MIME/header) and thus I was able to trick it.

Ooooh, wow, now that is really a detailed insight. Fantastic. I really like that you included the "sketch", if you can call it that, so it becomes more clear how many layers this actually has.
I also like a lot of the alternate ideas you had, but I think the flow of the final product shows that you made the right choices.

Thank you very much for your kind words and for reading. Well, the text is a bit long, I admit. ;)
Yes, in the beginning it was a little Odyssey with the ideas. And later it was also a matter of time and space in the picture.

The "sketch" is taken from the (near?) final picture, it's like a wireframe view you might know from 3D-graphics. Kind of, just the outlines of each object/geometric face. If one wants to think of them as layers to keep relation to most pixel graphics programs then even each fingernail would be a separate layer.
Maybe these paper dress-up dolls are a good comparison.

This technique helped me in the beginning (iirc. my first entry was Skimback for the weekly planners 2012-2014), because you can more easily correct things - but it tends to become quite some work as you add more detail. Then a pixel graphics + tablet or classic media (pencils, pens, brushes) are probably the faster tool in certain areas. I still stick to it because I am used to these tools, but I also occasionally try to use the tablet or (scanned) pencil sketches.
