I completely forgot to upload this, this is a 3D print of Wildfire! I'm doing 3D printing for my exam so this was a test to familiarize myself with the printer

5h for the left one, 30 min for the right.

I'm a little confused, what medium did you use to produce this? I know several techniques that can create images like this, so I was curious which one you used. I love how you use a variety of medium, wish I was as brave! Do you plan - or CAN you - color this? I bet it would be stunning. Meanwhile, I really like this. Often, images can be distorted or the subject not as clear when brought to a more 3D rendering. And I can tell it took you as long as it did; they look great!

Thanks guys! :D
Amberfox, it's printed with a 3D printer, with some kind of plastic. I sculpted the character in a 3D program (Maya & zBrush) and then prepared it for printing. After that it was just a question of pushing a button and hoping and waiting haha. I guess I could paint on top of it, like Warhammer figures or the like, but I don't know how well the paint will stick to it. I might try it on a smaller piece sometimes to see if it'll work but I doubt I'll paint this one. I like how it turned out and I'm not really skilled in painting miniatures. If I had access to a more advanced 3D printer I could print in different coloured plastic but alas that isn't the case.
(oh and the hours I listed was solely for the printing part, all the work behind it took waaaaay longer)

As I said, I'm famliar with similar programs, mostly used to create 3D models for forensic cases. That's interesting. So, this was for a class? Do you do this for yourself or strictly for coursework? Honestly, I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to attempt something like that, but then, I've never liked anything I've tried in 3D.

This rules!! Turned out great! So nice to see such a satisfying result of all your work. How cool to have such a sculpture of your own character. *bows in awe*

@Amberfox it was strictly a personal project. I made the sculpt previously and had some farfetched dreams to rig and animate her but alas that is something that takes way longer than the time I could invest back then. It's the same character as the rest in this gallery if you're interested in seeing it ^_^

@Treefox thanks! And yeah it is very very cool and slightly odd!
