Hello all, just wanted to share this mini intro comic I did for the wife's EQ fan club group ( WildWood Holt~  ElfQuest Fanclub!! https://www.facebook.com/groups/262311417306076/  also It's independent website - http://thespiralofoblivion.com/wildwoodholt/index1.html)  Hope you find it as enjoyable as I did creating it.

I know there is a limit on daily posts, hoping you won't mind me posting the complete comic (5 pages only) just this one time.

Created on Blue line comic 11x17 Bristol with Copic Multiliner and sketch markers.  All narrative boxes and lettering finished in PS CS5, scanned to standard comic format size.

This was a nice short comic! feels like the opening for much bigger series! nice work indeed! I've been two years in art school, comic side and this looks very good! have you done many comics? because I cannot see the normal mistakes people do while making comics! that is very very cool!...

Chieftess Foxdance and the lovely lady at the bottom left hand corner have my attention. That angle on Foxdance is hard to achieve and look right, but I think you managed quite well. Not sure if you'd be able to see that much of her topknot with her head thrown back like that, but, again, nitpicking. It's by no means distracting. The male in the upper left hand corner seems like the eye closest to the viewer is a little too high for the angle of his face compared to the rest of the features. The lovely lady on the bottom right looks like her nose and lips are little more forward to the rest of the plane of her face. Either way, the page is really amazing and one can always find more details the longer one looks at it.

This page was a nightmare, I resketched it 5-7 times , inked and redesigned 3 times.  It was just a bad ms week for me while I was working on it, I know I should have put it to the side and approached it later but I really need to learn to work through times like that. This page is getting a complete revamp soon.  I have so many circles on the mistakes find copy with this one that I can't see the artwork.   Work for Marvel comics back in 83'-85' as a multihands talent inker, DC on a inking internship for a few months ( speed was my downfall in the industry).  Did cell touch up for Harmony gold and Disney for a few months each, then went into magazine clipart illustration ( Circle, White Dwarf, Dragon, Playboy and so on.. Would have done better in life if I had gone to art school. Your 100% right that you miss so much on a piece your working on that other find easily, trust me I cringe a lot the next day looking at the stuff I post cause I see so much I missed.

Yes, I'm envious of anyone that has the patience and skill to do a comic, even a short one. And I'm envious you had the chance to work in a field I would've loved to. I was signed up to attend art school, but then the school took 7 months to approve me, then wanted to charge me over $7000 a semester. My family, who generously were going to pay for much of it, backed down understandably. Ah well. And you're not the only one: I have the same issue when I see my work after it's inked with little room to make corrections. I'm still mostly pen and ink, I've yet to really get used to the computer to do anything but touch and clean up.
