For Suntop and Ember I wanted to be challenging like with the Pike submission, but be more accessible to people who don't think around corners like I do. Instead of having a character in the middle imagining some off-in-the-distance future self or memory of a younger time, I made the memory the central feature, with the rememberers on the outside looking in. The observant viewer will note that the adult twins are not looking at themselves or each other, but at the tree... the memory is focused on a favorite childhood activity, and not oneself enjoying it.

Additionally, the lines aren't symmetrical. The right and left sides of the image are just slightly off-balance because despite the toe-tickling shrub being a mutual memory, neither side remembers it exactly the same way as the other.
