I really want to cheer up Scouter here... Your style is gorgeous. Wonderful work on the unfocused background as well.

He really pops up because of the unfocused background. And I love how you did his nose and lips. Also the little wringle on the brigde of his nose. It along with the lips makes for such a painful expression. I feel really bad for him Q,Q Bbut lovely done. :)

Aww, sadness, grief and melancholy. Mixed with a little bit of angst? Or is there also a little bit of embarrassment? I wonder what technique you used for drawing this, it looks partially like vectors.

To me he looks like he is biting his lips, trying to accept how unfair things are. I love the colors, and how you have kept he background a bit unfocused. I also love the coloring, you've even let his green shirt bounce the light! And how you've used the ink. My only slight criticism is that his hair is a bit too light, even considering how harsh the light source seems.

I can't help but feel Tyldak is somewhere off screen and this is around the early interaction with Blue Mountain. Perhaps it's the expression, but I can't seem to pin down his age; he appears to be from the original Quest, but there is an air about him that suggests more age. Again, perhaps it's the expression. I'm not familiar with your work, but welcome to the site! Always great to see new artists and their own unique approach to Elfquest.

Aaaahhhh, so young , so sad !   What a nice submission to the Calendar.  Very crisp and clean line art and colors - I hope to see more works from you Newbie.  The background has that- father tree or in the den -feeling that makes me feel as though I am there.
