Thank you all! I think we can disclose the emotions now, so I have to say that you were all very close! The emotion is "Gentleness".
I was imagining him healing someone and thus the light from below. Maybe some rogue cub got slightly hurt while playing wildly?

To me - I see him looking at the birth of the latest cub; Proud, without the "mine" factor, and so gentle a smile. The yellow highlights are wonderful, but MY eye is always drawn back to the smile. Really Nice TREEFOX.

I think this may be a bit different from your usual style because of the lighting from below, which can cause dramatically different looks on the same person because of the lines and shapes of one's face. It's a guess, mind you. I don't remember his hair being as red-blonde as this, but who cares? I love it. I'd have to go with the warm fire's glow, similar to what jaRf suggested.

Fiery-warm joy? Somehow I'd imagine him standing right at the birth of one of his children or grandchildren and looking with joy and a certain fatherly pride at the baby. And for some reason the baby shines like a campfire.

Gentle Rain, he has always been one of my faves. His smile and brown eyes give a warm, gentle feeling. And the glow intensifies this feeling, making it mesmerizing.

Rain...to see him captured in such a light and expression, you can see the traits of both Rainsong and Pike...kindness and fun loving. Fantastic!
