Ta-da! New art! In addition, I don't think anyone has ever posted an illo of Jethel (although I could be wrong), so here he is. My goal was to try and draw characters that haven't had much or any time in the spotlight, and it seems Jethel and Chot are (or were) a package deal: where one was, the other wasn't far away. Granted, I didn't really follow "Fire-Eye" very closely, so I may be way off in my depiction or concept. But hey, I gave it a try. I tried to stay within the idea of Jethel as drawn by Blair without the weird pedophile imagery. As for Chot, honestly, I never quite understood how - or WHY -  a Goback would hook up with a Sun Villager and little human kids. I realize he's been described as lazy and a glutton, but even with that, it's hard for me to get beyond the Goback ideology and the whole scenario of "Fire Eye." So, there you go: Jethel being a Sun Villager and Chot realizing that this is not what he signed up for.

I find Chot very funny somehow, and he doesn't even seem to realize himself what his role in the whole story is. Perhaps that's it., ;)
I haven't read Fire-eye, but Chot's face is just as I see him. ;)

iiiiih! Jethel! We never see this little guy in any fanart or anything! He looks like a teenager here, not a wee lad barely 11 years old who is horribly sexualized. He looks like a very young Cutter here, the Cutter from the flashback when they're retelling the story of Madcoil. Not to even mention how few times we see the wee human kids from Fire-Eye even mentioned! I love how you've captured how annoyed Chot is all the time. XD Ah I just dig this so much!

Oh man, I've been gone much too long! How awesome to see you art again, Amberfox! And also to see these two much neglected characters! Love it! Jethel and Chot are both so handsome! Chot's grumbling is portrayed so well! I think I tried at one point to get into the story of Fire-Eye, but honestly couldn't. The pedophile art didn't help...

I always wondered if Chot had an adventurous spirit that he was hiding.  But you are soooo RIGHT; he did not fit in with this Lot !

I really like the over-all  composition you have sorta rolling through this.  There is always something new to notice and your inks are always a joy to look at !   So glad to see you have time to draw again AMBERFOX.  I think you should get a home scanner, so we would not have to wait for you to go over to your Mom's.   *wink*  (just ribbing ya)

Damn glad to see ya.

Great to be back, Tah-Marien! Missed chatting with you, Berit, and Treefox (we foxes have to stick together!). I do have a scanner at home, but right now it won't scan. On rare occasions, the software gets corrupted and it eventually corrects itself. Anyway, I'm working on the silly thing, but yes, I'm still relying on my mother's scanner when I go visit her (generally about once a month). Of the three I drew for this series, I like this one the best, mostly because of Chot and his overall disgust. I had a terrible time getting the kids in, but since they seemed important in the storyline, I gave it a go. Yes, Startear, I think this is the first illo of Jethel that's been done. Again, I really just wanted to draw characters that rarely if ever got time in the limelight. When I drew Jethel, I really wanted to keep him young looking without being a little kid, but I was thinking more along the lines of early twenties. Oh well, close enough. Maybe this is early on in the adventures of Jethel and Chot. Glad you like the illo, ladies!
