Trinket

So I was reading the fanfics at SoC, about Tribe Switching. Basically, a character born or raised by a different tribe. Someone mentioned the idea of Trinket being left behind instead of Picknose, Old Maggoty and Oddbit.

It would require a lot of characterization, and it would be really challenging, considering that she was what? 3-5 years old when she was kidnapped? Not to mention the problems it would cause. It really wouldn't be easy being the only troll living among the Wolfriders. What, with Kahvi there, no way to replace metal weapons, the wolfriders would have to solve how to deal with a member who couldn't receive sendings, no way to cure Strongbow... yeah there would be many challenges. Maybe she and Little Patch would be best friends?

After outgrowing or tearing the dress, I think this are the clothes she's sport.

Been trying a new inking style, wherein one sketches, then jumps right to colors and add the inking when everything is done. Mostly due to no pen I can find lets me have the thick lines I want without smudging if I try to ink first. I messed her face up. :/

She's such a tomboy! Great! And an interesting concept, too. We really haven't seen a Troll raised by elves yet...
I also love the way you set the highlight.

Interesting idea, and Trinket is one touch cookie to "rewrite". Even though she was very young, personally I think her character was already very much formed at that point (and she was SO spoiled, that even though she later grew up with many trolls around her, she did not grow out of that, as seen in Ember's storyline... though I do think it would've been different with just non-materialistic elves around her), I do not think she would go without a skirt, because she's always so girly. I do like you've kept the pink. ;)

I also like the style you've used, the kind of brush-tip lines, and yes also the smudges. :) Perhaps in her face it might bother you, because that's usually the most detailed part, but I think for coloring her pants and skin the smudging works. Don't be afraid to try again!

Treefox, No, we haven't. Two-Edge doesn't count because the only only elf he knew during his childhood was his extremely abusive mother.

I love the way promarkers work, that one of the best ways to blend is to go from dark to light instead of coloring in flat and then add darker. It adds so much gradient and cool effects. And leaving white leaves great looks for highlights or for unnatural glowing light like I did here
.

Afke, funny thing is, I wanted to make a dress, but couldn't find a design which worked properly with climbing huge ass trees. And I didn't want to dump a Shuna like dress at her. It is too plain! So instead I decided to make an easy shirt but make it more girly. Also, the reason I don't like the face too much is because I didn't think about switching the calligraphy pen I used to a similar, smaller model. I had less control with my big one on finer details. :/

The pen smudging I am talking about can be seen on Copper's toe in this drawing;
the way the marker coloring looks slightly smudged in this one is intentional but when it happens with ink... it looks ugly.

Trinket was shown to not only be the spoiled princess, she was pretty much fearless in the fact that she stood up to all of the Sunfolk at the age of two-three years old. She went so far to say "because Trinket does what Trinket wants!" And criticize her father the King for being so weak to let point-ears run as they wanted in Shards. She would definitely let herself be heard and be independent enough even away from her parents. The hard part would be to see how the Wolfrider Culture would effect her.

I hope to continue with more "Trinket growing up with the Wolfriders" soon. :)

Her expression is simply wonderful! she clearly has grown out to be more of a wild child! a little mischievous even!... and it's true that is it was her with the wolfriders, it would bring a great deal of changes in everything! and wonderful artwork too!...

I've climbed trees in dresses, nothing to it. ;)
