I always wondered how you clean up the "messy pencil" part with the rough lines and proportion helpers. Is a thin eraser (or eraser pen) enough? It looks like a lot of work.

Thank you for sharing this! It´s always nice to see the workflow of other artists. How many sheets of paper did this take? Did you trace the lineart from the sketch via lightbox or something?

@ jaRf - - Just a standard kindergarten big pink eraser. Not work really - it would take more time to redraw.
@Dreamcat - - Less than three sheets of paper. The drawing (the original) is erased, taking out all the rough guidelines. Than I take a copy and color it. I cannot trace from a light box. I have tried. Something in my brain redraws every time. The copy machine/scanner I just got last year has helped me the most in my drawings. When I get stuck I now take a copy of what is right, and then finish the drawing on the copy. Boy has that saved me hours of work! I am so Old School; they need a new term for old school ! . . |
