I did this for the '09 calendar. Ohmigawsh it took forever to plan this and get it colored. Really happy with it tho, still one of my favorite drawings ever. (c) RTH

I love all the different expressions you managed to get, even on the characters far away. But my very favorite is the balance on the Elf holding the cub. His feet are braced and muscles bulging in all the right ways. I can tell it is a struggle to hold a squirming child !

I remember this illo from a while back on the River Twine site. Personally, I love the entire illo, the summer colors, the movement of the characters, and the inclusion of several elves in one scene. I've always thought One Leg was attractive, and you really did a gorgeous job on Chief Windburn here. Poor Crackle, I can only imagine the mischief she's been prevented from engaging in because of her chief, and the expression on Uncle OneLeg is priceless.
