This is closer to Rune's true coloration.  Lighting during the photos has given her a lighter or darker shade, but the resin casting is closest to the pale shots.  This is the wig that I custom made for her (huzzah for wild red hair) but the green eyes are not easy to see even though they are really nice.

She is Beautiful  !  !    I just love the ears.   It may sound silly but most people don't take note of the difference between elf and elf-wolf.    My favorite picture is the one where she looks so very eerie and white.  More how I picture a Forest demon would look to a Human.   Epic !

Oh, wow! Did you design this from scratch by yourself or are there doll parts you incorporated to do this?

Yeah, the pale white-ish one is the true color of the resin, but I have been fighting with my camera to get correct settings.  I just settled for a bunch of pics and said to heck with the camera settings... And yeah, I am all nerdy about the ears, I like the heavy look of the older style best for my gal.
Oh, and I did this doll all the way up from scratch.  Been sculpting Rune in white premo.  I don't recommend that stuff for this particular application after having done it though since it stays a little bit rubbery after baking.  I am working three more dolls currently using super sculpy and I like the solid cooked nature of it much more for fine manipulation, stringing of the doll, and its resistance to bending and mis-forming.  The only hangup is the lack of ease when looking at the surface.  Its much easier to see the surface of white/grey than it is to see translucent flesh tone.

That's really amazing! I admit I never really knew you could make dolls from complete scratch! I know, silly me, but it wasn't something that I paid that much attention to. Plus, I don't know anyone else that really does it. I think this is wonderful and I'd love to see the end result when all is put together. Was is difficult to get the wide and slanted elf eyes as opposed to the small rounded human shape? I am just amazed you were able to create a doll that didn't lose the traditional Elfquest features that has drawn us to the series.

Wow! I'm all for jointed dolls, and to see an Elfquest one is so cool! Can't wait to see this finished!
