LOVE that you've used her "going out"  as her action pose! And that you used purple and white instead of black and white fot that. Haha, it looks like her portrait is looking at herself and likes what she sees.  :D

Again, Savah is one of those characters where one tends to go "Savah? Pinup? Naaah. Don't really see that. "... and then you come here and post this marvellous stuff that captures everything Savah's about...

And may I add: omg-wow-beautiful!

Oh the glowing, gentle beauty! So glorious. I was sooo curious to see how you would draw Savah's pinup. But again it's really not about the pinup, but about the composition. Savah is the Sun Village. You bring out every aspect of her perfectly. I swear, I had tears in my eyes when I saw it this morning.
Oh, and please post the grid art of Skywise and Cutter!

I am so glad you all like this!  I get discouraged when I read people post things on the Scroll about how "yucky" it is when the "old" elves are shown as sexual beings (in particular, I remember a few fans objecting to Ekuar joining in the big before-battle romp.  Yes, kids, your parents DO have sex!  ;D ).  But it did seem out of character to have Savah in a full-out pinup girl pose.

Savah, even more so than the Gliders, has a very Art Nouveau design and I wanted to highlight the debt her character design owes to Erte.  The central pinup pose is loosely based on Erte's "Dream Girl" sculpture.  I can so see her doing a veil dance just a well as the younger Sun Villagers like Leetah and Shenshen, just a more stately version.

This composition originally had way more green frills and ruffles, but it was getting out of hand and cluttered.  So I simplified everything and when for the classic color scheme of using secondary colors (green, purple, orange).  This is not as unified as my other pinups - mostly because I was kind of winging it instead of planning ahead as I usually do - but I think I pulled it off.  For those interested, the "going out" pose was created using the watercolor version of Batik.  It was drawn with a latex frisket, the background painted, then the frisket rubbed off leaving white lines  That is why it is fairly rough - painting lines with latex is a pain!

Very beautiful and well worth the wait. She always had such a regal, elegance to her and you captured it perfectly. I never thought it was odd or out of character for Savah to have a pinup or be sexy; I always thought she WAS sexy, but subtle and...sophisticated? - than many of the other females in the stories. Besides, there is such a stressed aspect of the elves being sexual creatures, so why would age be a factor, especially among those that are immortal? And wow, I never could quite get the High Ones body proportions right, and it somehow seems effortless here. I have never worked with the materials you used for this, but if that's the effect, I may have to look into it (though I'm sure I won't be nearly as good). And just as a side note, when I first read the EQ comics and saw Ekuar involved in the GoBacks orgy, I thought, "Ekuar? Hey, Ekuar's getting some! Go, Ekuar!" then I thought "Way to go, GoBack lady!" It was obvious she had some age on her as well, but again - why should elves bother with age?

Almost forgot - should I wait to post the more mature Bowki or have you managed to find a place for him yet? Need to check and see what's been done.

I love her hair :) and the green scarf. The colouring is so pretty. I was thinking how many people get the wrong idea when they see the term pinup. I think all the artist did an amazing job with the fact that elves are comfortable w/who they are and with their bodies. It has nothing to do with age which doesn't really matter with an elf anyway. Every piece is beautiful no matter who is in it and it's sad for those who can not see that.
