Tyleet - then and now

Definitely not my first EQ -drawing - but that is my first digital EQ portrait.
The portrait on the right is part of a full-body pic of Tyleet I'm working on. It suddenly dawned on me that the face kind of resembles the old 2007- portrait, so I did some cropping, and...ta-daaa.
Gah, I remember being so happy with that thing in 2007.

I like both!
 I don't think the old one is bad at all, though it's obvious you've used the smudge tool and a texture. But as an image I love it still. It does have more contrast than the new version, but the new one is so warm and has a lot of depth!

I had just discovered the smudge tool in that period, and used it like manna sent from artist heaven.
 I actually used restraint here; some of my other portraits from that time are....one big blob of smudge. The scary thing is that I was really happy with some of those pictures. Pictures that hurt my eyes now. Wich brings us to the very sad realization that whatever I post now will make me cringe in some years.  |

While I understand your feelings about old pics, I still see nothing bad in the old version. Different, but both are sooo gorgeous!
If anything, you seem to have developed an even more awesome coloring scheme skill and maybe your allover compositions have gotten better. But I still love both versions! |

Both pictures are just insanely gorgeous. I remember when you posted the first one. I could not stop looking at it.

I think both are quite lovely, though they represent different sides of Tyleet. The 2007 one has the forest fox foreign beauty which the woodcutter saw in her, while the other is closer to how the elves see her. 8D

I love both of these! I don't see how you can be ashamed of the 2007 version. They are both beautiful in their own ways even with the different styles.
