Can I have this painted on my wall, please? How can I describe how much I love this! There's depth and experience to Little Patch, his life is reflected in his eyes and his body. This is sexy in a very realistic and beautiful way. This makes me want to touch his skin.
Do you paint with gouache?
I hope you'll join us here to tell a little about why you chose to draw him in his mature form. I'd be very interested!

*can't stop staring at his portrait*
Could this possibly be my favorite?

Dankjewel Afke <3

Treefox, hi ;D I'm so flattered by you comment. I chose to paint him this way partly because at the time it was not clear how many people were going to enter and his younger version was reserved for someone else, but also because I figured he'd look very sexy wearing nothing but this fur cloak (and the boots, haha). Adolecent Little Patch is beautiful in an elegant, boyish sort of way but as chief, in his bear (cat?) cloak, he is much more manly and interesting. As for your question about the medium, this is all done in Photoshop. Can't paint with real paint to save my life!

Whaaaat??? Photoshop! *dies* That is awesome!
Thank you on the backstory. I love to hear what artists think while they draw.
I agree that his manly form is sexy (probably more sexy to me personally) and especially interesting. Thank you for contributing this gem!
Please come back with more art!

fantastic!!! the poses are so unforced I also love how you don't use black to out line anything just the contrast of the background to the brown of his skin. this is so fantastically painterly I want to print it and put it on my freaking wall! I would LOVE to collaborate on an image with you if you ever want to!

You did this in photoshop!?!?
*has a breakdown*
What brushes and textures did you use?

That portrait is just...wow. So intense.

Hmm, he's not so little anymore is he. Nice work, I like the realistic aspects of this.

@Silentleaf: Thank you so much! Do you have an account on DeviantART by any chance? You can find me there and check out my other work: finnguala.deviantart.com. A collab sounds fun, I don't have much time atm though, but in the near future perhaps?

@Mirror: Haha ;D I wish I could invite you to my house and show you how, it's so hard to explain in words how I work. I use standard PS brushes, I start with a soft round brush to do all the colouring and then use 'thick, heavy brushes' (these: http://www.slicktutorials.com/ps/plasma/4.jpg) with a low opacity to create a sort of traditional media look. Finally I use textures from cgtextures.com (rust) and fiddle with the layers until I am pleased.

@Maggie: Thank you! :D

I agree with silentleaf, we all could learn so much from each other! As for the picture, his stare is so intense, it's almost scary!! Gotta love the realism.

We should organize an online drawing party: all who are interested sign up on a list. On a certain date, every single member sends a sketch to the next member on the list (the last one sends to the first on the list) - whom contributes to the drawing in their own way. And so on, until all drawings have done a full circle :D

A RL drawing party would be much cooler though...!

I'm still impressed that drawing is 100% Photoshop....

This is stunning.  Stunning.  And I never in a million years would have thought it was done in Photoshop.  What an interesting character choice, and what interesting poses to put him in!  And his eyes in the portrait are so captivating!  I really hope we see more from you here, Saskia!

Love this. I especially love how much he looks like a human, instead of a round-eared elf.

I, too, would never thought that the picture is done in Photoshop. I'm amazed that it's possible to make such effects there. It's wonderful! I think it makes the picture look warmer, somehow. I love the colours you used and the look in his eyes, there's so much there. I think he is great character and your version of him here makes me so happy!
