I always liked Vaya, too bad we didn't get to see more of her in the comics...ah well; you're making up for that...nice work.

Y'know, I actually wanted to draw Vaya myself for the calendar. Now I'm glad I didn't
You've captured all sides of her personality so well! |

Thanks galore! Again, it's funny, because this was one of my own entries that I quite liked, but doesn't seem very popular. *sighs* Maybe I'm loosing my touch. That wouldn't stop me from drawing though.

Loosing your touch..? Pffft!!
Actually, that always happens to me too; I post something I'm quite happy with and get two comments in one month. Then I post a weird sketch - and get ten comments in an hour |

You're so right! And also, don't take that too seriously. I guess I am more disappointed that the rest of the world is so little interested in this awesome project. I mean just look at how awesome it is!
I mean I didn't start working on this, because I wanted to get all the praise for this, the main motivation was, just how cool the project itself was, but especially now that it has become this great, big thing, I think it just deserves more attention. |

I agree about the project Treefox, but please don't see it as a personal failure. It's only been up one day so far, and the average ammount of comments is 3.
But it's true, the more I seem to put into a picture, the less people'll respond with words. Perhaps they'll think they can't say anything that'll mean something to / help the artist, but no comments makes the artist doubt about their work. That said, I love the lighting in this; her pin-up clearly is located in the lodge. And such a pretty portrait with that shiny flowing hair! |

Thank you, afke. For your comment and your kind words.
The portrait is probably my most favorite pic I drew for EQ fanart ever. |

I agree that this is one of your best portraits ever - which is why I made you enlarge it in the composition so people could enjoy it even more. ;-)
The amount of comments is not at all tied to the quality of the art. Sometimes people are just chatting in the comments section, other times they don't know what to say and don't just want to put "ooh and aah." LOL Like you guys, I've found my best art doesn't get too many comments. I think one of my EQ bests was the "Star's Welcome" cover, but it only has 4 comments. |

I really like the warmth of the pin-up, it makes her even more inviting. And that action pose is so her!

And I really didn't want to whine about not getting enough comments. You guys shower me with lovely attention! It's just that the pictures that I personally like best don't seem to be generally liked as much. BUt I will NEVER stop drawing! The urge is just too big.

I just wanted to add my voice to the comments posted here. It can be disheartening when there is a lack of comments but I know I don't always post comments because I fear it would be stupid to just say "oh pretty!" like everyone else. I need to remedy that and give my fellow artist more support!
So on that subject - YEAH FOR VAYA! She's one of my fave characters and you made her awesome. I love the action pose and the way you did her hair. And I'm glad you wont stop drawing. I like your work! |

Oh heck, I'll pile in on the conversation too. The frustrating thing for me, which Windrider may be coping with as well, is that I have to wait to comment on pictures for up to months at a time (yes, poor me!). I feel like anything I would say has gotten stale.
Which is why my comments come in sporadically at peculiar times, when I have moments where something about a piece catches me unexpectedly and I see it with fresh eyes. And on that note....I want to run my hands through her hair in the headshot. Must. Touch. |

I think that is exactly what I wanted to get across with the pinup pose.
Hence the addition of the swords in the background. And I love how the hair on her portrait turned out, but it took hours to get the details and shine in. ONE MORE THING: I feel quite the meanie, because I haven't given due praise to Windrider and Foxeye for their assistance with this picture. To Windrider: Thank you for improving the layout, so her portrait could be made bigger! To Foxeye: Thank you for the advice on the placement of the supporting fur in the pinup. Definitely looks better with it! |
