That`s a result of an art trade.
Something irks me on this portrait: the mouth? the eyes? Could anyone help to clear my view? (I looked at it too often and cannot see the mistakes anymore)

might be her forhead is a little low? shes very pretty but i feel like she should have more head?

aye, the forehead is what caught my attention as well, though to me it looks like she has too much head, specifically that the left side of her forehead should be curving back.

Aaaah, I see. You are right, Foxeye, it looks much better!
But I also agree with Silentleaf, her hair should start a bit more above. I checked it on myself: my forhead from hairline till brow is at least as long as my nose.  Thanks to you both! You made me aware of something I`ll hopefully avoid in the future.

Actually, I think the change in the drawover is enough. The hairline isn't necessarily too low; different people have different hairlines!

I like this drawing a lot! She looks gentle and absolutely beautiful. Apart from what Foxeye has pointed out, I think her eyes may be standing a bit too far from each other. I do this a lot, too.

Well, she's asbsolutely beautiful! I think Treefox might be right, though...? You've got the eyes one eye-width apart, and as I understand it, that's right -- but with the curve of her face in the 3/4 view, what *looks* like an eye-width might be a shade more.
Also, I see you've drawn the eyes and mouth much darker than most of the rest of the picture. I think it makes her look mysterious and intense, but it might be making those features jump out at you? (And might be evidence of you having drawn, redrawn those parts many many times?) The actual shapes of the eyes and mouth look perfect to my eyes... |

Thanks Razzle and Treefox. So an eye-width between eyes is a scale for good facial proportions? I have not known. Only for elves or in general??
And yes, I had to draw over mouth and eyes again and again.  But acually I liked the effect in the end. |

Yep! I bet if you look in the mirror, *your* eyes are one eye-width apart. I don't know for certain about the EQ style for elves, but the one-eye-width rule *looks* good to me on EQ elves. I even just check our two pet cats -- *their* eyes are one (cat)eye-width apart as well! Neat, I didn't know that!

That was the rule - the one eye width - if I remember correctly from Wendy Pini describing her style of elves. I wouldn't worry too much about the eyes; even elves will have variation among them. I've seen people in everyday life with very wide set eyes. I honestly don't see it on Cinderglow, however; I think she looks fine as it is. The softness of her hair contrasting with the darker, stronger shading for her facial features really works. The viewer's eyes are automatically drawn to her face. I hope the creator of the character loved it.
