Schudspeer stargazing
by Afke
My cousin gave me this really pretty, rough, grayish paper with white freckles. Yes, freckled paper! And I'm loving it.
This is a portrait of my storyteller from Zonnemeer Borg, Schudspeer. He is Fladder's father, and the oldest elf in the tribe.
Drawn and shaded with pencils, highlights with white pencil.

Mmm, collar bones....
*shake self* How do you keep these pieces so clean...do you do a sketch on another piece of paper, then trace onto this paper? |

No, I just start the sketch really light, like with a 2H pencil. After that I do the lines with a softer and thus darker one, like 4B. I also usually don't erase the help lines, because I like the look it gives the picture (except when they're really annoying, then I try to erase them a little).

LOVE this one. I'm awful at profiles, but you do an excellent job. He's a cutie; and his face has character. Seems confident and yet a bit dreamy in this illo.
