Damn it! The way you always vary styles, shading, coloring, settings...I just don't know how you do it and how you make it look this great! This whole setting looks so epic in scale and yet so peaceful and comforting. The shading is so gorgeous and so hard to do. Just love this!

Every year is a surprise and this is no exception. The depth alone makes this totally amazing but then you notice the colours and the characters and it's like you're actually in the Sun Village.

I had to download this and put it into photoshop to figure out how you got that lovely sense of warmth and depth from such a limited palette. I really like how soft it is, even with the crisp lineart, you can really feel the heat from the last bit of sunshine in the desert! And the bond is very sweet, I don't think many people would've chosen this version of the Rayek&Leetah bond!

Awwww! The scene re-done form HY 09! "...when I am ready came to mean whenever you wish... " It was among the first things / scenes I remembered when I read that someone had taken young Rayek / young Leetah.
The matte colours seem unusual to me, but then it fits with the mighty background scene and gives it a slightly more sandy, dusty look. Also the light distribution makes it very interesting and keeps the focus on the two playing elves. And see: Leetah was practicing her dance-the-grain-up-from-the-ground dance with Rayek, ha!
(@Wildfire: I think the eye also adds detail automagically to limited colour palettes. If you break it down to tech specs it might seem limited or simple, but it works when you watch the image.)

Czarine, you delight me with the variety of coloring skills you have in your talent arsenal.  And This scene, my,my.   That [moment] caught of Rayek's  seldom seen vulnerability and kindness.  And If I am remembering correctly the day of his healing, Yes?  Healer bond, gratitude bond, sun bond, gardening bond; there is so much here.  Seen and unseen. Bravo.

For me it looks a little bit like Rayek is teasing Leetah and take her Toy away. Just a little bit.
Beautiful colors. I do feel the warmth of the dying day. The shadows looks great! Love it!
