Well, this is a really, REALLY *rough* sketch of Cutter! It's actually me trying my hand at sketching again. I ordinarily *never* sketch, and just draw my art from scratch. Scary. I never actually "learned" how to sketch, really, so this is still pretty new for me.
I sketched this after having recently started up again perusing EQ comics, etc, but I wasn't using any particular picture for reference and drew from memory at the time... I can see how it's not very proportionately accurate, and the shapes are really simple, but I kinda think I captured his attitude (I hope!) So, enjoy, critique, etc!  |

3/4 view (or rather, my attempt at it) of Moonshade, drawn with dry pastels. It took me between 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours to do -- very long time, for me, as art goes at this point! Her right eye (your left) got messed up, and I figured out why: I made it narrower horizontally to show the 3/4 view on the eye, then accidentally scaled down the height, so that it just looks like a small eye rather than a partial view of a normal one. Also, I'm still working on not smudging the rest of the paper with pastel... We'll call it the "dreamy clouds of color effect" today! That sounds deliberate!
The rest of the picture looks *all right* to me, but I know it's slightly awkward. I think there's something wrong with her mouth. So, constructive criticism is welcome here, don't be shy!  |
