Dreamberries! posted by Czarine in Canon June 11, 2019, 10:05:50 AM 13 1
I'm helping out Berit with a gardening game thingie (the game doesn't really have a name yet!), and I drew a dreamberry bush sprite for it. It was drawn in Anondraw, so yeah! Enjoy!

Moonstrike and Shadowstep performing for the humans of some small town. Later they will be sneaking into the homes of these humans and stealing valuables.

She is not finished. I haven't drawn in a while, but I have never been happy with her design. I think I am getting closer to being happy with it.

Whistling leaves again! - 2019 posted by Berit in Animals, plants and stuff! June 06, 2019, 11:53:23 AM 11
I'm doing a sort of gardening game thingie with Czarine and I really wanted one plant to be the Whistling leaves from Elfquest... we do all the art stuff for the game in anondraw. I make a quick upload because today I'm busy caring for sick catfishes and loking after corydora babies so they grow up nice and strong...
Neela sculpture posted by Czarine in Non-canon June 04, 2019, 02:26:55 AM 25 2
I visited Berit last weekend, and I tried a new, weird material to make art! His house is like a treasure trove of obscure art materials...

Anyway, this was some kind of foamy air-dry modelling paste that felt a bit like moist, non-sticky bubble gum, and turned into somewhat marshmallow-like material when dried. It makes for very light-weight statues!

I tried making Neela with it, and I think it turned out pretty good. It was nice to see that markers and acrylics stick to it well. To make the sculpture stronger, I started with an armature and styrofoam base and just smoothed the paste on top of it.

5/5, would recommend it! I just can't remember the paste's name. Maybe Berit can help?
Laluna sugar sculpture - 2019 posted by Berit in Laluna May 31, 2019, 12:58:54 AM 17 1
Again, no computer here so I just hope this photo looks like something! I bet it's blurry because my phone camera sucks!...

Anyway, long story short, found blue and skincolored sugar and thought that I had never sculpted with it so I gave it a try! but I dried the sculpture wrong so it became brittle and broke so Laluna lost her hair and head, I was able to attach the head to the body with some glue! but sadly the hair was in so small pieces that I could not save it... so more glue and I slapped some yarn there!... also, because it was not purely sugar sculpture anymore, I cheated and colored the clothes and face details with nail polish I use to care for my pet snails shells normally...

Laluna turned into wiener headed goth elf!...
Marut sugar sculpture - 2091 posted by Berit in Marut May 31, 2019, 12:56:25 AM 20 2
I currently have no computer at my disposal so I just have to hope this looks like something, sorry for the blurriness! my phone camera is bad!

I originally made this wholly from sugar as I found some grey and skin colored sugars, but as I am not experienced with sculpting with the material I dried it wrong and it became brittle! so brittle infarct that it broke! Marut lost his ears, head and hair! I was able to salvage anything else but the hair so I just slapped some yarn there!... well, at least I tried something new again! made one about Laluna as well...

Another illo that didn't want to upload properly. Surprise illo I did for Berit. Berit has posted illos of various characters as merelves, so I thought, why not Marut? This is what I came up with. His hair is wet but slowly drying to stand up. Laluna observing in the background, ubiquitous oblivious bunny just out of reach.
Marut posted by Amberfox in Roleplay gamed, orphaned, requested, other May 19, 2019, 08:15:54 AM 23 1
Wow. This was difficult to post; it kept wanted to post sideways no matter what I did to it. Anyway, close up of Marut's face from a full page illo I've been working on for ages. Don't know if I'll ever finish it, but here's a close up of it.

Quick sketch I did of Berit's Deloris (Rustle) that I included in his recent letter (along with the sketch of Quartzpelt). I think the colors mostly survived scanning...and I think she's scheming from her expression...
Quartzpelt posted by Amberfox in Roleplay gamed, orphaned, requested, other May 18, 2019, 12:43:50 PM 29 2
A quick sketch I did of young Quartzpelt from Berit's Our Wolfpack. I think she looks happy because her brother Fargaze isn't around. She's one of the wolves I got to name for Berit (Fargaze, too).

Berit! Berit! BERIT!! posted by Amberfox in Roleplay gamed, orphaned, requested, other May 09, 2019, 10:31:12 PM 46 4
Idea came to me and sketched it out 5/8, shaded it in 5/9, uploaded it 5/10, so this is brand new. I sent a large and rather expensive envelope stuffed with oodles of goodies for Berit, but sadly, things were not going well for Berit and he was offline for a while. Thankfully, it arrived safely. This was my way of trying to get Berit's attention, plus, this was fun to draw.

This illo includes Marut reading the mailbox the riot act, Cade ready to smash it with glee, Rustle in fox form pulling the post down, and Tomi ready to slice and dice the damn thing. There are aspects that are so wrong/off with this, but I had so much fun drawing it. Poor Tomi's foot was cut off as I ran out of room on the paper, but he just launched himself into the air to really get some power behind his sword. There was some pencil work that didn't scan through, but I can try and darken it and scan it again.

I'm sure we've all been in this same situation, whether it be physical or electronic. At least, my mother's mailbox can attest to that. Enjoy everyone!

A newer illo I just now finished inking; I think I sketched this sometime last year. Anyway, this is Janett Beasley's character over in Ocean's Edge Holt, merged with Crossing Paths Holt. For some reason, I'm pleased with how he turned out, maybe because he is the son of my Backstabber (named for his assassin style of combat) and Janett's Morningmist. Janett and I created him together as a cub, she took him over and grew him up.
Darkwarrior and Halfmoon posted by Amberfox in Art for Other Holts May 07, 2019, 02:00:01 AM 29
Another older illo that I just now finished inking. Shame on me. Anyway, at least I'm working on art. This is Janett Beasley's character in Three Holts Alliance, which sadly has folded. The good news is that the illo can still be featured in the Rogue section in World Paths and Janett will receive a copy; maybe he can find a new home. I'm not as happy with how Halfmoon turned out, but I'll just have to draw them again sometime soon.
Ref work posted by nilla in High Ones May 06, 2019, 04:58:52 PM 20 1
Decided to try and do some ref drawings, focusing my high ones. Specifically Yionyi and Serrilur who I always have trouble with.

I tend to find refs I find really interesting or will force me to draw characters in situations they aren't used to. In this case it's Zharo (tallest man), because he's typically very stone faced and very hard to rattle.

I have no idea what they could be looking at that could explain their expressions. (I'm assuming something has gone wrong for somebody since Yionyi is smiling like that)

Characters are: Yionyi and Chenah in front, with Zharo, Serrilur behind them.

Chief Skyblade posted by Amberfox in My Holts May 01, 2019, 04:24:17 PM 35 1
I think I drew this around the same time as the other one I posted quite a while back, but it's one of the many I've been meaning to finish and just never managed. This is Chief Skyblade of Starborn Peaks in Serengeti Mists of World Paths. They are pure or blooded and bonded to Ethiopian wolves and live in a region similar to the Ethiopian highlands. His sister, Chieftess Fennecfox, took some of the holtmates and began to wander, returning occasionally to the highlands. I think this is the best I've drawn of him. It's already an older illo, but here it is.
Our Holt #15: Kayel posted by Amberfox in Roleplay gamed, orphaned, requested, other May 01, 2019, 04:08:32 PM 41 5
Gone native? Well, not entirely...
In the tradition of Mirror and her stunning art, "Our Tribe," I was inspired to do similar. Initially, I was going to group them as Mirror has, but then I got lazy trying to get everyone organized (especially since some do not have heights listed) and complicated because I kept the individual illos large. I also wanted to draw characters that haven't had a lot of time in the spotlight, for the most part. As always, the scanner just doesn't do the colors justice, but at least you can get an idea of what I was going for. I already have about a dozen characters drawn, but I intend to color them all instead of inking them. Takes longer, but I just felt like trying to do it. I hope I've done everyone justice, but if I haven't, let me know and I'll make the corrections. And if anyone would really like to see what I can do with their character(s), contact me. Here is my attempt at Kayel. The color is not as vibrant and clean as the original, but do I even have to say it anymore? This guy is seriously a study in browns. I hope he looks okay. And seriously, I am so done with trying to color sandstone, or whatever stone is common in Sorrow's End. Kayel, Neve, Lilac, and Truelife are actually rather new illos; I sketched them only about a couple weeks ago. And I can't imagine any GoBack completely going native in the Sun Village. thus this particular image.
Blackheart posted by Amberfox in Roleplay gamed, orphaned, requested, other April 28, 2019, 01:10:29 AM 33 1
More golden oldies. This is my Blackheart from the old roleplay games I used to master and she's been in a couple of holts over the many turns (currently orphaned). She is a chieftain in our games, and no matter where she is, she's mischievous, clever, and always up for a fight and a roll in the furs. A really fun character. I miss our old gaming...
Silverankh and Cornerstone posted by Amberfox in My Holts April 28, 2019, 03:51:38 AM 38 2
Once again, an older illo. There are so many issues with this, but I figured since Berit can post his illos with confidence even though he says there are problems with them, so can I. This is Silverankh (bet you're surprised she's mine) and her Recognized lifemate Cornerstone (administrative assistant!). These two are not unlike Strongbow and Moonshade insofar as they are "old marrieds" in their behavior. They are inseparable and very devoted to each other. Cornerstone is silent, a bit moody and brooding, but does have an underlying wicked sense of humor. Silverankh is silent, moody, brooding, and quite instinctive; Cornerstone tends to keep her calm and at least be able to think from time to time. They are a lot of fun to game and write about. When they first met, her cousin chased Cornerstone, he wanted nothing to do with her, but pursued Silverankh relentlessly. Silverankh wanted nothing to do with him, and he found it amusing when she was so annoyed and disgusted with him. Well, Recognition hit, and he still had to convince her. Ultimately, these two are perfect for each other. Cornerstone is Janett Beasley's character, Silverankh mine in my holt, Holt of Grand Illusions.
Gentlesong posted by Amberfox in My Holts April 28, 2019, 12:38:19 AM 30 1
This is Gentlesong, an adoptable NPC from my holt, World Paths. She is from Serengeti Mists, the Peacebringers faction, that bond to elephants and roam the plains to try and unite the races in peace (hence their name). Gentlesong is as her name implies: she is calm, peaceful, serene, and gentle. She's no fool, however, and can fight if she must. It's an older illo, but I still like it. I am working on new material, but I'm inspired to finish the old stuff.

The finished portrait of Nightsea's character by the same name, an elfquest sea-elf in Star Trek's mirror universe. The PADD is a little out of place...I think I drew a next generation variation...but I think we can ignore that. ^_^

Lines done in Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and colors in PS CS4.

Edit: Added stars. And uploaded a slightly larger version than the previous one.

I would LOVE to see Ekuar take her under his wing (singular) and for them to do some crazy Earth Bending. Someone, draw it. I commands.

Obscure character time! This gal was in the BoTC comic and novels. I'm not sure if it really is Nightdancer, it's just an educated guess. She was a magic user, she could call moisture out of the air, and she made the muddy battle ground. What if she could repel it too, as an umbrella?

This was an illo for March 2016 Grab Bag
Tomi portrait 2011 posted by Berit in Cade & Tomi August 21, 2011, 01:00:45 PM 558 6
a portrait about Tomi! those black lines are from a D&D character Sheet I happened to have. (if that bothers someone, I can always erase them) I just wanted to create Tomi there as well, the picture came out fairly well, I think... I had a game that used these sheets with Luna lately, I bet She'll add her picture of Terra here soon too!...
