I’ve been meaning to draw these two ever since I got my hands on the second volume of the Final Quest.
Dart and Mender just complement each other, and I’m hoping this won’t end like Dart’s relationships usually do…

That was the official FQ setting now, right? There was a lot of discussion though (father tree holt forums) if that was a good thing or not. Mostly because some people didn't see them fit so well like others and that it seemed to be all of a sudden. Like a lot of other things in FQ that happen and you ask why and where it came from.
But that shall be no reason not to make art.

@jaRf Yeah, it's official. And I just love it, as they really do complement each other, one's a hothead and the other has had time to cool down since, well, Shushen (That was his name, right? The one who the Go-Backs shot?). And it might seem sudden, but we have huge jumps in time all the time in FQ, so I don't feel like it is actually sudden, and besides if you start to like - or love - somebody, you can set your own pace for the relationship.

Still haven't gotten around to read Final Quest? Prepare for a lot of ... sudden changes. Tumbling from one thing into the next, with quick cuts (short screentimes), missing dialogue (some words one would expect for elves that meet the first time or after a long period), but even more open ends seeming to come in at the same time, new art style, new colouring style and so on. Weird ups and downs. Decisions of characters you can't understand (or maybe can once the series is complete).
I still read it because it's EQ but I think a lot of things were rushed. On the other hand I understand that the Pinis probably want to get this done, maybe also because they feel that they're aging. I don't know. |

Oh, but they look so handsome! I love the coloring style you used here. The clear lines combined with the soft shading is wonderful!
