Goldenrod and Bisonreader

Just thought I'd post another illo while I had access to a decent scanner. If time permits, I'll try and do a couple more. This is Goldenrod and Bisonreader of Three Holts Alliance. They are a father/daughter team that tends to the bison herd. Both are friendly and quite muscular (well, I tried to show that), and it seems Bisonreader is giving pointers to his daughter as they make their way to the herd for the day. Both characters are Beth McClellen

Haha, she doesn't look too happy about being lectured! These also look so nice and clean! Great scan indeed. And I can't help but love Goldenrod's top! Great design. Also interesting hair styles for both of them. Is it typical for that tribe? The braids are so wonderfully drawn!

Meant to say this is also a WIP. If time and space permit, I may try and wedge a bison or two in the background, definitely a border. As for the style of the characters, no, I can't take any credit for that. They are the designs of Beth McClellan (damn, need to look up how to spell her last name). The hairstyles are all their own; Three Holts Allianace elves don't have any particular "look" to them. Braids are fun to draw; when I first drew them ages ago, I took three different colored sashes and braided them to see what it looks like. Viola!

I want my mother's scanner.

Yep, I also think it helps to actually braid something to get a closer look how it works and also make a nice example how the finished braid looks like. I wasn't able to draw braids when I was younger and one day, I tried making the real thing and suddenly it clicked. Since then, I could it!
