Aiming
by Startear
Ever had a really cool image in your mind's eye, then sketched it and liked it, only to realize that... your character is left handed?
That was happened here. So I had to change the pose, and not it doesn't look as cool. Oh well.

nilla: Thank you. You're right, she does look content. just like she did on my last one... need to draw her when she is more upset. Only, it breaks my heart. :/
Kvitulven: Det er håret! Ikke bart! DX I approve of your icon. Welcome to the good side. We has chocolate. |

When I took an archery class, the teacher told us it wasn't our dominant hand that determined how we should hold the bow, but our dominant eye. So your character could still be right-handed.
Or, you could simply use a computer program to flip the drawing. |

You mean people actually close their eyes when shooting?

No, most people have one eye that is slightly stronger than the other (which is why 3D movies give a lot of people headaches), and that is the eye you want to do your aiming with, and the side of your body that should hold the bow.

Aha! So, since I'm far sighted on my right eye, but short sighted on my left, then I should hold my bow on the right? Huh, didn't know that.
I thought that it was the strongest arm which one should hold the arrow. Have always held my bow in my left hand. |

Well, that one class is really my only experience with archery. Who knows, it may have just been that teacher's pet theory. I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't people reading this who know better saying "what an idiot!"
