Yaaay! Afke art! Wonderful! I love how Picky looks so smirk and content with his work. The colors are so intense and beautiful! Is this traditionally colored? Was this a collaboration in the end? Anyway the way the light falls through the rocks and the lurking shadow of Two Edge in the background are absolutely perfect.

Gotta love Picky's expression The details on those rocks and light seeping through them, wow! I like the white dust that trickles from the ceiling, like the tunnel has just collapsed, and that background - so ominous!

Picknose's expression is priceless, he is just so pleased with himself! The light shining through the rocks is marvelously done, did you use pastel pencils? And the white drizzle of dust falling down. I also love Two-Edge lurking in the background.

I was so happy to have your work in the calendar this year Afke. I have a bit of a soft spot for Picknose and was delighted to see your style and his face grace 2020.

Thanks guys! Just as Yavia said, I always cry a little when I read your comments.
Most of this is Copic markers. Pastel pencils wouldn't grab onto the smooth paper, but I did use white ink and some other pencils for the lighting and dust details. And last bit; I darkened the edges of the frame with Photoshop for some extra depth, and Two-Edge in the background as well. I wanted to show he was watching, but he was a bit too present in the original colouring. |

One would wonder if that is TwoEdge in the desaturated-dark background, or a shadow of his own past? Well, but somebody definitely looks happy about the recent breakthrough. Now that could all be physical level, but could this also be meant metaphorical for developments in his life?

How devious of Two-Edge. I never wondered before just when or how he got old Picky's attention. There is a story within this story that needed your love and attention AFKE. He is so happy*sigh* little does he know that his world changing will soon drive Him outside.
These colors are just vibrant and true. They support the graphic novel look -yet reach a little beyond . . . |

This is fabulous, I adore your colourwork! It's always great to see your traditional works, they have a great "feel" to them, very old-school and vibrant. The detail in the rocks and crystals is really nice, it's never just about the characters with your art which is wonderful!
