I've been wanting to see Maggie's "Ekuar" ever since Windrider talked so warmly about in on the forums.
Now I see where she was coming from. Simply beautiful. (And Ekuar is not a easy character to pull of, esp in a pin-up calendar!) Maggies pictures always have such a eqsquisite softness to them, which goes so well with Ekuars peaceful expression here. |

Yes, truly, this is nothing but perfect. I wouldn't change a single thing. The composition and colors alone make me feel calmer. His eyes just draw me in. A perfect blend of his friendly nature, while also reflecting his past terrible experiences.

Ah, very interesting. I was very curious how difficult characters like Ekuar would come out. Very good, very good.
I also go with treefox here, it makes me feel peaceful and accomplished (even though I have a lot of work still before me) right now. |

Thank you all for your kind comments. I am now in a state of permanent blush (blush blush).
I think I put the most work in on Ekuar, I wanted him to be seen for the handsome, good natured elf that we all know and love with a little sexy sprinkled in, because at the heart of every hot guy there needs to be a winning personality and if any EQ character has one, it's Ekuar. |

You achieved quite a feat with successfullyl putting Ekuar in a pin-up pose. Well done. Your use of colour and lighting effects, particularly in the eyes, is masterful. Is this Photoshop?

I love it so much! The way looks on his pin-up pose, so calm and wise, I get the feeling like he looks out there, to the stars, and understands so many things. I love the peaceful feeling this picture gives and his beautiful, stunning deep eyes. Such a wonderful tribute to an amazing character. I'm in awe.

@ceruleanblue Thank you. Yes I use Photoshop, I find it works best for me as I am the kind of person that makes a lot of mistakes and Photoshop allows me to easily correct things I don't like about what I am working on.

First thought was that Ekuar is overdressed - - - but the next moment I realized that THIS is how the gentle elder wants to be pictured! Masterfully done ... very tasteful, very dignified - yet vulnerable without his peg leg. He IS naked - - - in a special way.
He looks more peaceful and content as ever in the headshot - so lovable. and last not least Ekuar how we know him best. Excellent! |

Such a serene and elegant character, and adding him to the calendar was a must. I agree most people would pass him over when considering him for a sexy pinup calendar, but you have certainly changed their minds and hopefully challenged their notions of what is sexy. He has such a wistful, peaceful, calm look to him in all three illos, you can't help but be drawn to him. And you do such fantastic coloring, rendering, and composition that it's really frustrating to the rest of us (okay, just me). You have really captured his personality and charm.
