In Zarhan Fastfire - Posted Today
I thought I had posted to this, silly me. This is the best interpretation of Zarhan I've seen. The canon art from the comics never appealed to me. In fact, I couldn't figure out WHAT he was. He just looked really weird and unflattering for any species, something akin to a cross between Bozo the Clown and a troll doll. This looks amazing, even sexy, but still very mysterious and quite the enigma. That's how he was supposed to be, from what I read. Amazing job! Miss your work here!

How is it you can manage High One proportions and make it look so effortless? He's a handsome sea elf, and I love you have given him a deep sea blue to his skin that, again, look so effortless and realistic. The accent colors really work as well, and can you imagine him and Terra having cubs (pips?) with that green hair? Great work, as Icemoon said, as always! Wish I had joined World of Danen when it was active...sigh...

This is such a sweet, sad, and very touching scene. I love the emotion and overall feel to this. It's something most of us can relate to, the loss of someone dear that still seems to be with us no matter where we are. I agree with the framing of the trees to the image. It's also great to see more Rain. He seemed such a great character that didn't get much of a chance to spend time in the spotlight. We also need to see more Bert.  Where are you, my friend?!

Mom must be proud; he's a handsome guy! Love the use of the paper, and it really helps with the overall theme and mood of the illo.

I think I actually prefer the long side swept bangs best; very sexy, in my opinion.

I don't have anything beyond a mouse at this point, but maybe I should look into a digital pen and/or tablet. I did try using photoshop to color long ago and it was just weird to me, so I didn't keep it up. Maybe it's time to revisit. I can be a bit slow to new technology, I admit.
In Hey, Mom! Look what I found! Can we keep it? - Posted Yesterday
Mom to this day rolls her eyes and sighs about my propensity to drag home animals and ask the exact same question. Yes, gopher tortoises are pretty huge. When I brought that one home with me, it was so huge and heavy (I was about 6) that I had to squat slightly and brace the back of it against my thighs just to support it. Mom thought it HAD to be an escaped pet, so she sent me around the neighborhood to make sure it wasn't. So, I got a pet tortoise. Sadly, they are now extirpated from the area. But Mom did take pictures of me trying to hold it. As for Songjoy in this, he's still stunned he got grabbed and dragged under by a cub (pip?). He's just beginning to try to figure this all out, and how to escape without harming her.
In Hugs are awkward - Posted May 10, 2024
I have to admit I love both of their expressions; they seem so very genuine and real. I would be much like Beyond at being hugged like that, never much for hugging (long story). Don't think I remember much about Feannec, but he is rather attractive here! Of course, Beyond is as well, and I certainly can sympathize with him. Great illo!
In Prim - Posted May 10, 2024
Yeah, he does have that pimp look, but I can't help but wonder if he's offering his services as well...I might buy! He is cute, and like Wildfire, I'm loving the hair.  The clothes are...well, I've seen much worse, but isn't that the fun in taking them off? Someday I'll get around to posting the dice rolled characters I've done and/or sketch those that I rolled all those years ago.
In Front in cover of my new Fantasy diary - 2018 - Posted May 08, 2024
I think their play-quarreling is who gets to be on the front cover! Love this, it's really fun to look at, and the angle on Marut is great! I agree that the use of the brown paper, no matter how slippery it might be, really adds to the image. I don't have a diary myself, but I do have several very full 3 inch three ring binders full of my EQ art over the years. My non-EQ art is scattered over my house here and there. Priorities, after all!
In Preparing to Perform - Posted May 08, 2024
Well, I've been holding off on everything until I was done with most of the illos I've done of him. So, calendar calls, upload what I have and finish the rest later. Told you he was demanding of images of him! Glad you're enjoying these! Songjoy has a mass of thick hair that he plays around with, especially the "bangs," which can change up his overall appearance. Of course, the hair going white, then blonde, then gradually regaining the dark colors changes things up, too. He's a slender guy, and I'm not entirely happy with the way he looks here, but the face is almost spot on. Hey, shading is my thing!
In Cub Songjoy In Color - Posted May 08, 2024
Even as a cub, he loved the lightweight, swirling fabrics...and some practical leather pants for preventing those typical cubhood injuries. His eyes are a med-dark silvery-blue, and the effect in real time is amazing (damn scanner). Of course, he rarely wears shoes, even to this night, because he likes to connect to nature at all times. Ah, my little nature boy. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point I find him hugging a tree.
In Songjoy...Again - Posted May 08, 2024
Yeah, his shirt/tunic also has shades of blue in it to blend the violet and green together better. He tends to wear white and light colored silks when hanging around the holt, more appropriate attire when he is out and about. I really should explore digital coloring, but at the moment, I just don't have a lot of programs on my computer. I just have the most basic of basics and no real knowledge of what works best for my needs. As for Photoshop, I used to have a program on my old laptop that worked really well and I had learned to use a lot of techniques with it, but what I have on my current one seems a lot cheaper and more simplified. Can't seem to make it do any of what I used to. It just stares at me, taunting (and I swear I hear giggling).
In Ready to Perform in Technicolor - Posted May 08, 2024
Thank you! I'm not entirely happy with this one, but again, I had fun with it. I may do a background at some point just to snazz it up. That hair color thing is tough for me to nail down, but since it changes (along with his style), I suppose i's okay.
In Hey, Mom! Look what I found! Can we keep it? - Posted May 08, 2024
Hmmm, well, thank you, but it seemed distorted to me. The final word will come from Yeee, though! I don't know why, but I thought the idea of this was hilarious, and I was that kid that would bring home all sorts of critters and ask my mother the exact same thing. I got to keep the gopher tortoise, but Mom put her foot down with the little green grass snake. Anyway, despite all the trouble I had with this, it was fun to draw. I had to cut the very ends of the edges off because the paper slightly exceeded the limit of my scanner size and I had to rearrange some poses and placements to make everything fit. Still, I'm happy with the results.
In Mender - Posted May 02, 2024
He's looking mighty buff, isn't he? He also seems to be inviting the viewer to join (literally, I imagine) him in some healer induced fun. Count me in with this outfit being a favorite! Great to see more work from you, MenderFanForest!
In Cutter and Tyleet - Posted Apr 06, 2024
This is truly fun and adorable! The use of the background really reinforces the idea of movement and speed. I admit I sadly don't recall the connection between Cutter and Tyleet from the "Kings" series, but this makes me want to go back and read it again. Would love to have seen more of this kind of interaction between Cutter and Ember, but this is one of those images that really makes one smile. Great job on the perspective, movement, and the joyous feeling they both must be experiencing!
In Derro - In COLOR! - Posted Mar 29, 2024
I will definitely be posting again very soon.  I have three of my four Songjoy illos colored, just need to figure out a background or something.  Sigh. Not a fan of backgrounds; they take me ten times longer than the actual illo. Also have that one illo I mentioned, should have that finished soon as well. I'm not happy with the way the tail colors turned out or how I did the details on it, but I'm happy with the scales. And hair, of course. I have also done three calendar sketches, but need to finalize something to present. In the meantime, glad you like Derro!

Wow! How did I miss this?! This is amazing, so much work went into drawing and inking this! I love how each character weaves into the others for such a coherent, eye catching illo; so much to see every time one looks at it.  Moonlight looks so enthusiastic, but I rarely see Yeee looking troubled. Haken has a valid question in the physics of being underwater with drinks, but keep at it, Haken, you'll figure it out. Embala and - is it Longfin? - look so sweet and entangled in each other. Love the idea of using angler fish as decorations for this strange object everyone seems excited about, and love the inclusion of Sebastion getting chased by them. Does the harpy have a name? Poor Rayek, he does seem to get abused in the fandom, doesn't he? Absolutely fantastic illo!

Heh, heh, just wait 'til JaRf sees this!
