I thought I’d post Redlance’s and Nightfalls’ wolves from my calendar submission, as they turned out quite decent and were mostly covered by their elf friends.

Okay, I was going through really old art and found drawings of several Wolfrider women wearing moth silk Sunfolk dresses. I liked the design of Clearbrook’s dress, so I thought I’d give it a makeover. But then I felt bad of only drawing women again and added One-Eye. Then I thought maybe they wear this for the Festival of Flood and Flower. So I added a half assed background and didn’t adjust the colors of the characters at all. I wanted to keep it simple and sorta failed...
 Clearbrooks "undressed" lineart turned out pretty nice,so if anyone would be interested in giving her some colors and new outfit, I would post the lineart as well. |

I really struggled whether to spam the site with my old version of Clearbrook’s dress. But maybe it will make you giggle a bit like I did when I rediscovered it.

Oh man, this turned out nothing like I imagined…
I re-drew this again and again…I used a new software for this, so this was at least good practice. This might become a series. And maybe I’ll re-do this someday… yeah probably not… |

This took a long time to make and so many reworks, it's not even funny. I am pretty happy with the result, even though I do feel the single parts look better than the complete picture. I am pretty proud of the eyes and put a looooot of details into them, so I recommend to have a look at them in full size.
 I hope this will really become a series and I'm going to start the next one soon. |

Happy 46th birthday, Elfquest!
I didn't quite make it in time, but close. So, here's the next entry in my portrait series, Rayek. What a complex character without whom Elfquest would not be what it is. His journey from being rather self-centered, arrogant and needing the confirmation of his worth from others to becoming the caring, often selfless officially certified hero that he is now. And his journey is not over! Will we see it's conclusion one day? Again, I tried to incorporate all the elements that shaped Rayek on his life's journey in this portrait. Next will be the sketch for the calendar entry! |
